New Attraction Coming to Fun Spot America Orlando

The Orlando location of Fun Spot America will receive a new attraction in the next few months. While the nature of this new addition is still a mystery at this time (no details have yet been given at this time), the official Facebook page of the park mentioned the following: "something COOL [is] coming to [Fun Spot America] next month. Can anyone guess what can possibly go in this HUGE spot?" The post included some photos of the cleared land:

If you are familiar with the park, you will notice that the location chosen for this project was previously reserved for the new Fun Spot Water Park, which was supposed to be part of the second phase of Fun Spot America's major expansion. Here is a current map of the park to help you visualize the area:

If you liked the Fun Spot Water Park project, you shouldn't be too concerned... yet. In fact, Fun Spot America wrote the following to us (on Twitter) in response to a question we had regarding their water park project: "We have not dropped [the plans] but it will not be in this area."

All in all, it looks like both Fun Spot America parks might soon reach the levels of Six Flags parks, thanks to the major investments and the money they are putting into them. While we ourselves are not big fans of Six Flags-style parks, we definitely agree that they are much more ambitious than any other local amusement park found around the world (including the United States). What do you think? Do you like the direction taken by the Fun Spot parks? Make sure to share your opinions with us!

  1. I drove often by but never visited it. The "park" looks cheap and unattractive with a lot of concrete and unattractive rides.
If they would make it more green and added because of that much needed shade I would give it a try for sure.
Don't get me wrong, they try and that is great but it looks just ugly. Oh and their commercials look as bad as the Family Auto Mart once.

  2. Really what a slap in the face to Six Flags! Fun Spot is more the equivalent to a permanent carnival than Six Flags!

  3. Don you should visit one time, they offer the best customer service than any other business I have visited. They also offer great value, I have 3 kids, compared to the likes of Disney. I rate them higher than Six Flags in experience but Six Flags do offer more rides. Of course I like the fact that they are family owned and LOVE the commercials. Great Regional Park

  4. Funspot supplies a niche in Orlando. Not everyone wants to pay $100 to see midgets in costumes and overrated "themeing" with no substance or thrills. The wooden coaster at Funspot is better than any "ride" at Disney.

  5. Since it's not a water park, however they mention the word "Cool", I'm going to think it is some type of water ride going in that space, whether it's a Log Flume style ride or maybe a Shoot the Chutes style water ride, but that's what I believe they are building.

  6. You know, Orlando does actually have locals that might want to go on some smaller rides for cheaper than going into the parks occasionally...
