Disney's Beach Club Resort Refurbishment Starting Soon

One of the most luxurious Walt Disney World Resort hotels will soon receive a major facelift that should last almost two years. In fact, Cast Members working at various locations around Disney's Beach Club Resort have recently been alerted about a major refurbishment project. The official advisory stated that the hotel would be "undergoing refurbishment through the next 20 months." If you plan on visiting the hotel, make sure to take note of this.

  1. Two years to refurbish a hotel? The entire EPCOT park only took three years to build, and that was over 30 years ago!!! Common, Disney!

  2. Yeah but Epcot wasn't open when they built it.

  3. Sounds like another version of the Poly refurb. Why does Disney not just shut down the resort and get the work done in 1/4 of the time?

  4. What is being done? Will it affect the pool as well as the rooms? Is it the DVC rooms or the rest of the resort?

  7. I have contacted Disney directly and they say this is not true. Is your source reliable?

  8. They must be taking their sweet time and taking rooms out of "circulation" to help keep occupancy rates up. Resort really needs a big time refurb. When I was last there, there were carpet stains every where and the furniture was pretty dinged up. Still really enjoyed our stay, but it was showing its age.

  9. @Second-to-last-Anonymous: Our source is Disney itself. A very, very reliable source confirmed that this was announced internally. In fact, the portion in bold comes directly from the advisory published internally.

  10. Actually stayed there the past 2 days and was pissed when I awoke to drilling/construction going on so yes it is happening. Would never have booked to stay there if I would have known.
