Magic Kingdom Update: Hub & Tomorrowland (PART 1)

Welcome to our newest photo-report, Orlando Theme Park News Readers!
Today we are going to take a look around Magic Kingdom to check out the progress being done in the various areas that are currently under construction. As always, we will focus primarily on the park's central hub, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland. Of course, as always we will also take a general look around the rest of the park. So, without further ado, let us embark on this virtual tour of the park:

We are walking right down the middle of Main Street U.S.A.:

Work on the central hub proceeds:

We are glad to see that work is being done very quickly in this area:

Most of these walls should all be gone by this time next year:

The Tomorrowland side:

More new concrete will be poured in this area very soon:

A better view:

This view is still quite surreal to us:

In Adventureland, work continues on the facade of Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room:

Pirates of the Caribbean was quite busy. It had a 40-minute wait:

Then, all of a sudden, the ride went down:

Most? I expected it to be long done before then, what is the expected time frame? :(

  2. Don't get me wrong, Disney hinted to the fact that the work will be completed by next Spring, but there could still be some unforeseen events that could delay the project. Hopefully this will not happen, but you never know (especially when it comes to Disney, which takes a long time to build anything.

  5. The hub remodel in a nutshell, will add a second ring of asphalt 'street' on which oooo'ers and awww'ers will be able to stand/sit upon in order to watch the fireworks at night. Its all about increasing the crowd density of the hub for hub-centric events. Logically the hub will expand eventually so that the entire capacity of the park will be able to gather in none lump lest anyone feel they might miss something 'magical' ('magic' that happens almost every night, sometimes twice a night)

My suggestion was to just move the whole thing out to the speedway where lots of nice asphalt already exists and leave the hub alone…

But it will be ok, still some trees and green, and after awhile nobody will every remember what it was really like decades ago on opening day.
