New Animal Kingdom Park Map Debuts (June 2014)

Today (June 1, 2014) is going to a be a special day for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. For some, it may be a little sad, due to the fact that the last performance ever of Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade took place yesterday. For most people, though, it will be a happy one, as we will finally see the return of the Festival of the Lion King show in a brand-new facility, the Harambe Theater. The newest park map (which came out today) shows all these changes. Take a look:

Here is the front of the new park map, featuring Kali River Rapids (FULL-SIZE VERSION):

The map itself shows the extended Harambe Village and the new Harambe Theater. Notice also that the parade route has been completely removed (we hope you waved goodbye to Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade). Click on this link for the FULL-SIZE version of the park map to see all the details:

Here's also this week's Times Guide, which includes the times for the Festival of The Lion King show:

  1. Why is FOTLK only Sun-Fri?

  2. Its not. The * means that time is only valid on Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, and Fri. So, on Thursday and Saturday, there is no show at 5, 6 or 7. However, the 10am through 4pm shows will still happen.

  3. Did you pick up that Times Guide? Or, did you find it online?

  4. I'm surprised that they got rid of this parade. It was fun and had some very neat floats and characters. I have nice memories of eating lunch and watching it go by. This park has so little going on, any would they take this parade away, unless they're planning to bring a newer one in soon?

  5. The parade was cut to allocate resources to the future nighttime entertainment... which isn't coming for years still.
I'll miss the Christmas overlay. :(
