Universal Studios Update: New Fountain in London (PART 3)

In part 2 we continued to take a look around the London Embankment, where we saw a lot of interesting new additions. Now we will continue to check out London, then we'll move on to San Francisco and New York. Enjoy:

The fountain looks to me like a copy of the Eros fountain at Picadilly Circus in London.

ReplyDeleteThe fountain is indeed a copy of the so called Eros fountain. The fellow on the top is actually not Eros but his twin brother Anteros. Eros and Anteros are two of the many Greek gods.
ReplyDeleteGrimmauld Place is hidden by magic. To make it visible it slides the houses to the side to squeeze it in there. Due to that motion the edges will have some damage.
The owners of the site, due to their religion, don't approve the youth literature of J.K. Rowling, a coming of age story, because it had magic in them. It's clear they haven't read the books nor have seen the movies but probably follow the judgment of their religious leader without forming an opinion for themselves. Thankfully they love theme parks and want us (and themselves) to enjoy them. Thanks for the photo's.

ReplyDelete@Otto: This is definitely not the best place to talk about these very important things, but I can assure you that we do not follow any leader or figure. We are well aware of what we believe, and for us our beliefs are much more important than anything else. Please, don't jump to conclusions.

ReplyDeleteBut it's clear (due to remarks written at the photo's) you yourself don't know the Harry Potter books/movies and jump to conclusions yourself or are at least judgmental. Isn't that a tiny bit the same?
Sorry again for coming to conclusions that are wrong, I stay corrected.
Is there a place to talk about this, maybe it helps to understand these things because to me they don't make sense but I'm always open to learn new views?
@Otto: We really appreciate your attitude, and we also appreciate your understanding. We didn't want our message to seem rude or too harsh, but we have to defend our beliefs as they are much more important than anything else, like we said before. Of course, you are correct about the fact that we know nothing whatsoever about the Harry Potter books (and it shows in our updates, as we can't name anything from those stories), but it's because we choose to do so.

ReplyDelete@ShaneGoodsir: Thanks for letting us know that regarding the original statue. Universal Orlando has confirmed that this version will indeed be a huge fountain, and you can see it in many of the official artworks depicting the London Embankment. It's going to be great!

ReplyDeleteA beautiful thing about living in America is that we all have freedom of religion. That's not to say there isn't prejudice, which is unfortunate, but in the end we can all determine ourselves what we do and do not wish to believe.

Without jumping any kind of religious bandwagon; is there a reason you're happy to display pictures of magical things whilst they're under construction here but not when they're open? Just a query.
ReplyDeleteActually, there is absolutely nothing related to that in our updates. All these pictures show reproductions of actual buildings in London, albeit slightly modified. In reality, there's nothing that actually relates to Harry Potter in the front facade. Even the bus and the new statue are something common in London.

ReplyDeleteThere are no purple 3 decker busses in London, they are at most 2 decks and red. The bus in your photos is the night bus, a magical 3 decker bus that appears only to witches or wizards in the Harry Potter books/films.

Good update but you missed the new paint on the Village Circle Hall restrooms and Starbucks expansion.
ReplyDeleteOTPM, thank you so much for all the work you do. I'm so glad you at least aim your cameras at the HP areas, even if you don't enjoy HP. You always notice changes in the parks that even I don't catch. (like the rain gutter) Readers should just post corrections instead of criticizing you for not knowing. I was there for the past 3 days and I noticed a fence going up behind the T-rex photo op in JP at IOA. Now we can't see into the woods back there...Also, the Cabana Bay Beach Resort is Awesome!
ReplyDelete@OTPM; I've been in 2012 to Orlando to visit all the parks, and specially for The Harry Potter section we watched all the movies again (for the second time). And i must say, it is as good as in the movies.
ReplyDeleteAnd about the London theming, that's allmost right. (I'm from Belgium en been in London 5 times). But even then, it's fantastic. Thnx!!
The Knight Bus is not a London landmark, it's a magical bus that changes it's size, travels at magic speeds and has shrunken heads that talk inside it.
ReplyDeleteGrimmauld Place is not a London landmark, it's a house only revealed by dark magic and contains dark wizarding family.
You have also posted some pictures before sneaking a look inside Diagon Alley which is magical. I'd love you to continue to do so, but don't understand your reasons.
Leaky Cauldron also not a landmark, but a wizarding venue!
