WDW: New Airline Check-In for Guests with Int'l Flights


If you live outside the United States, you might be pleased to know that, since this past Monday (January 27, 2014) select Walt Disney World resort hotels have started to offer Resort Airline Check-In Service for Guests with international flights. As with Guests traveling on domestic flights, Resort Airline Check-In Service allows Guests to check in for their flight from their resort on their day of travel, including retrieving boarding passes and checking luggage. The following Resorts began offering international flight check-in service on January 27, 2014:
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Polynesian Resort
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
The rest of the Resorts will begin offering international flight check-in service on the following days:
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Resort – February 3
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort – February 3
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa – February 3
  • Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts – February 3
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort – February 10
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – February 17
  • Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – February 17
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – February 24
  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort – March 3
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort – March 10
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort – March 10
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – March 17

What airlines participate in Resort Airline Check-In Service? 
Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, AirTran Airways, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways participate in Resort Airline Check-In Service. 

How early do Guests need to check in at the desk to utilize Resort Airline Check-In Service? 
On their departure day, Guests must check in at the Resort Airline Check-In desk no later than three hours prior to flight departure time. Guests with a flight departure time earlier than 8 a.m. must check in at the airport. The Resort Airline Check-In desks are open from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. 

What if Guests need to make a payment to check luggage? 
Prior to checking in at the Resort Airline Check-In desk, Guests must contact Baggage Airline Guest Services at 407-284-1231 between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. to pay any applicable airline baggage fees. They may also contact their airline directly. Guests are unable to make payments at the Front Desk, Concierge, or Resort Airline Check-In desks. 

Is Resort Airline Check-In Service available to all Guests? 
Resort Airline Check-In Service is available to many Guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel. However, resort Guests must be flying on a participating airline with a flight time after 8 a.m. to be eligible. Due to certain airport regulations and securities, some Guests may be required to check in at the airport and may not be able to use the service.
