Dillon's Updates: Quick Magic Kingdom Update

Our new official photo-reporter, Dillon, is back again with another great update. This time, he took some time to check out the Magic Kingdom Park to see what's new. Let us join him in in this quick photo-tour:

Starting the day at Magic Kingdom and so was a lot of other people that were waiting for the tram:

Disney is taking their time to do some concrete work on this one section on the left of Main Street:

Building on the right of Main Street is getting some brick work done.  A white cover up was on the bricks while the park was open:

“Main Street Trolley Show” going by as we walked into Magic Kingdom:

Hot Summer day in front of Cinderella’s Castle with the stage show “Dream Along with Mickey” going on.

Goofy Statue in front of Cinderella’s Castle:

Mickey Mouse confetti from the recent parade that passed by on the lawn in front of Cinderella’s Castle

Liberty Square’s main bridge getting a new wood refurbishment:

New wood on the bridge path:

Prince Charming Regal Carousel” closed for refurbishment:

Workers  are replacing some vinyl on the attraction:

Walls are still up around the new “Princess Fairytale Hall”.  Notice the new golden trim outside:

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train” progress is still much underway with more work being done on the mountain.  Focused more on other areas of the park with nothing big being done yet to this project.:

Picture of a younger Belle and her Mother inside their house:

“Madame de la Grande Bouche” entertaining the children before we enter:

Princess Belle inside the attraction “Enchanted Tales with Belle”:

Really enjoyed the Mickey’s PhilharMagic 3D show! Never gets old:

One of Pascal’s friends. Do you see him? There are many more to find in the Tangled area!:

Another one of Pascal’s friends is hiding in this picture:

Sign in the Tangled area describing the hidden Pascal’s throughout the area:

The new “Counting House,” a Disney Chase Visa Card kiosk. is now open:

The old “Counting House” is now covered up. Who knows what the future holds for this area:

“Splash Mountain” is completely shut down as you can see that the water is not going down the drop. An E-Stop was pressed so maintenance could work on the ride so all power is shut off from the ride and logs are stopped either at the next brake or on whatever lift they are on at the time:

Maintenance working on the issue at the bottom of the main drop known as the drop run out. From my experience, most likely a faulty sensor detecting a log in the area considered as a “ghost boat” or in this case, “ghost log”:

“Big Thunder Mountain” had a 70 minute wait at the time but they had the queue around this interactive section closed off. We found out why. The handles were broken to show the canaries inside. Disney didn't want you to know they were broken. You can see in the picture the one on the far right is vertical, was a little hard to push down, and was working but all the others were horizontal, really loose, and wouldn't start:

Totem Poles in front of ”Jungle Cruise” were recently closed for refurbishment. Fresh paint signs were around the barricade which implied that the walls were put up the night before. The Totem involved in the Pirate’s game was still available to interact with on the right:

Found this in the “Adventureland” clothing store closest to the bathrooms. I even played Hopscotch myself : )

The camel in front of “Magic Carpets of Aladdin” is yet again broken. He still “spits” water but his head doesn't move anymore. You can hear it trying to move but no go:

As you can see, the camel was shooting water in the same area constantly since his head was not moving from side to side:

Fresh mulch added around the “Swiss Family Treehouse”:

The water wheel at the “Swiss Family Treehouse” has been refurbished finally and it’s working great! Always thought this was fun to watch and follow through it’s process:

The building to the left of “Aloha Isle” (where Dole Whip ice cream is served) is now under refurbishment.  Disney’s working its way down the way with refurbishments:

One of the buildings at “Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook” that had been recently refurbished is looking great:

Beautiful scenery to the entrance of Adventureland:

Thank you very much for reading, and another big "thank you!" to Dillon for sharing these photos with us.

  1. Hmmmm.... I am wondering if the old counting house will be maybe a MM+ Station? With the Kiosks and things for checking/making/changing FP+, Dinging Ressies, etc? Could be a good place for that?

    1. Very good point Paul. Makes you wonder though why they moved something to there to put something new in its old place, why not just put the new with the new building? #DisneyMysteriousWays
