Dillon's Updates: Downtown Disney (August 12, 2013)

Starting today, we will have many more photo-updates to share with our Readers, thanks to our friend Dillon! In fact, he is going to help us covering all the theme parks and attractions here in sunny Central Florida! This will be his first photo-update for Orlando Theme Park News. He visited Downtown Disney yesterday evening. Enjoy:

Curl has been officially moved to its new location by Splitsville. The store is quite big inside and very nice.  Certainly recommend visiting the new store's location:

Something Silver's new entrance:

Phineas and Ferb's Interactive area used to be here, now the bands are set up to play here. I personally like it better with the lake back drop. They moved chairs to the area as well:

Dominic Gaudious playing his didgeridoo and electric guitar for the crowd.  He was walking around playing and interacting with the crowd tonight. Glad to see he's changing up his act:

The Planet Hollywood sign on the side by the bridge is out:

The walls are still up in Pleasure Island all the way passed where Apricot Lane used to be. Definitely makes for tight spaces when it's busy:

Where the living statues were setup is now another band area since the other side is now blocked off:

Fuzzy picture alert! I was walking and couldn't stop or I would have been trampled. Very busy night before school kicks back in. You can sort of see that the new wall is very long:

Apricot Lane is officially closed and doesn't look like it's returning anytime soon. The sign is taken down and completely dark on the other side:

Love that Ragland Road has umbrellas up to block the sun during the day. It can get quite hot during the day with no cover. Nice to see that they care for their customers:

Ragland Road's tap dancers outside performing:

Cool picture of the sign at quick service Cooks of Dublin:

Water fountains by T-Rex:

The Taco Truck that was by House of Blues and Wolfgang Puck Express is now right before Portobello

This seems to be where the main stage has been moved to temporarily in front of Fulton's Crab House.  Lots of seating all around. They added the extensions around the band's not too long ago. They must have had issues with the crowd messing with equipment:

Kind of blurry but a new tent up with the sign that says "Beer Wine Frozen Drinks" in front of the temporary stage:

Across the lake view by Fulton's Crab House:

I happened to turn around and noticed this awesome shot of the balloon, the fountains, and the moon all in one shot:

The Living Statues have been moved in front of T-Rex and Pollo Campero.

It's made out of LEGOs!:

Couldn't resist taking this picture. Great sense of humor Disney!:

Some really cool coffee mugs now for sale in the main Disney Store:

Thank you for Reading, and a big "thank you!" to Dillon for sharing these photos with us!

  7. We apologize, but it looks like something went wrong. We are working on fixing this. Sorry about that!

That said, some of these comments are really funny!

  8. I think most of these comments were mean. I'm an atheist and I believe the administrators of OTPN have the right to make believe Harry Potter doesn't exist. I visit this blog and Screamscape daily and will continue to do so. I'll also be on Gringott's the day London opens with my Wife. :) (well, maybe years later when the lines die down) (No, on second thought... my wife will find a way as soon as it opens. It may involve camping out inside Doc's time traveling train and dressing up as Universal employees.) ...no.

  10. PLEASE....invest in a semi-decent camera and if not a tripod, then at least a mono-pod!!!!!

If in doubt, up your ISO and it'll be a grainier image, but without blur
