New Fantasyland GRAND OPENING (Official Photos)

As the entire world now knows, the New Fantasyland is officially open to Guests. Here you are some of the official photos and videos taken by the media cast of the Walt Disney World Resort during the Grand Opening celebration that took place on December 6, 2012 (you may recognize some of the famous people seen in these photos. If not, take a look at this post from the Disney Parks Blog):

Tom Staggs, Chairman of the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts:

Tom and some celebrities (some of them were the "voices" of some characters in Disney movies, by the way!):

And here you are two official videos of the Grand Opening celebration. The first video shows the media-only event:

The second video shows a small part of the Grand Opening event that was attended by both media members and the general public. It was a much more impressive moment (our video of the full event will be uploaded soon!):

We will soon post all the photos we personally took! Stay tuned.

  1. I will take Transformers and the Simpsons Springfield over this any day.

  2. I'll take a non-cynical anonymous comment over ones like the one above any day.

  3. Transformers? Just a 3rd rehash of the same attraction with a carbon copy relative of it (Spider-Man is superior) sitting next door. Yawn.

Simpsons? It's bad enough they replaced an attraction that was far better in execution, now they're set to completely starve the already emaciated "World Expo" from its original theme.

On the other hand, the Harry Potter/London expansion is a golden avenue. That's worth waiting for.

  4. Look Disney add rides, shows that the whole family can enjoy. Universal with families with older children. I enjoy Disney more but I couldn't not go to Orlando and miss out Universal. I last went last year and saving up for our first family holiday in 2016 so they be lots of new attractions to see at Universal and Disney.

  5. DISNEY SPENT ALL THAT MONEY ON A LAND WHICH ONLY APPEALS TO LITTLE GIRLS. THE MAGIC OF DISNEY IS A MISCONCEPTION BUILT ON TRADITION AND BLINDNESS OF AN INFERIOR OVERPRICED PRODUCT.

  6. Disney knows what they're doing. Even if New Fantasyland is mostly for girls, you would ignore that market? I'd take New Fantasyland over the no-heart Transformers ride any day.

  7. Hate to burst your bubble "CalcAu" but your comment is anonymous too. Now mine on the other hand...
On the subject, good for Disney AND good for Universal on their projects. They both offer different products in the same category which is ultimately most beneficial for the guest.

  8. It has nothing with being anonymus. Its about posting a cynical and slightly smug comment.
Anyway, Sherman puts it best about what makes Disney and Universal different.

  9. You know, if you don't like what is happening at Disney, then don't go and don't read about it. I have teenaged boys and I certainly am much older than a "girl", but we are looking forward to seeing the changes at Disney. You can't compare the two parks- they are totally different. And, if you are going to constantly cricize Disney, then have the courage to use your name. I like reading these blogs, but really, all this negative vibes. Why do you even care about Disney in the first place?

  10. I saw Flynn Rider there. Does that mean...or is it just a one-time thing?
