Nickelodeon Studios: Will the Show Ever Come Back?

Despite the fact that the Nickelodeon Studios attraction has closed quite a few years ago, we are definitely sure that many of our readers will remember it. Nickelodeon Studios was a very popular interactive show at Universal Studios Florida, which was replaced in 2007 by the Blue Man Group show. Countless shows and games have been taped there, and virtually everybody that attended one of the taping sessions definitely had a great time. Unfortunately, after a few years, park guests started to skip this attraction, which was then forced to be closed in 2005. Now, the question is: will it ever come back? One of our readers believes that. Take a look at this rumor that was sent in a few weeks ago:

Nickelodeon Studios Tour Reopening? *RUMOR*

According to the Facebook page "Let's Bring Back The old Nickelodeon", a mutual friend of one of the moderators works at [Universal Orlando Resort] and said that the Studio Tour for Nick Studios is back in the works, due to people trying to break in all year round. However, I am somewhat skeptical of this considering [Blue Man Group] just renovated their show this year. But, being a Nick AND [a Universal Orlando Resort]  fanboy for life, I am needlessly excited. Therefore, I would heavily enjoy this word being spread throughout the theme park community, so if it is indeed true the word will spread so fast to the point that they can't deny it (Just like the Potter expansion and SS44)...

Well, this definitely sounds like something we would certainly love to see coming back, and this rumor does sound good to us. Unfortunately, the reason specified in the rumor is definitely very, very weak (if people were to break into Epcot's Wonders of Life pavilion, would that force Disney to reopen it?). In addition to that, the rumor doesn't specify whether Universal is thinking about bringing back the shows or just offer walk-through tours of the facility (which would definitely not be a popular attraction. Not many people are such theme park fans as we are). Nevertheless, this gives us a hint of hope. Maybe, in the distant future, in a faraway land...

But now, we want to hear your opinions. What do you think? Would you like to see the Nickelodeon Studios coming back? What about the Blue Man Group show? Will it ever be moved or replaced? Share your thoughts!

  1. If breaking into something caused it to reopen Xandu would still be inspiring us of what futuristic living would be like.

That being said I would love to see some Nick in the park. Nick is the thing I miss the most, even more than Kong and Ghostbusters! Its sad that such a major network has all but forgotten it's humble beginnings. I would love to see a small Nick walk through attraction, or even a small Nick land like what Mall of America has.

Hey, at least we still have the time capsule!

  2. Is there anyway they could move Blue Man Group, and open the Nick studios? I saw BMG two months ago, and did Bluphoria (sp?). Anyways we got to sit on the old Nick second story balcony before the show. I couldnt help but look into the windows and to my surprise there still was the Nigel from the Wild Thornberries still there in a display right by what appeared to be escalator. So I would assume there still is at least some Nickelodeon props there.

  3. Well, I would love to see Blue Man Group OUTSIDE of the Nick Studios area (maybe they can be moved to a CityWalk venue?).

This rumor makes me very, very happy. Sadly, I don't think this rumor is very plausible. However, if it is, then I'd be very happy. (The only way I'd be happier is if they brought back the BTTF ride and The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, but I digress)

  4. Nickeldeon Studios coming back would make me incredibly happy! I was able to walk through a normally off-limits area for grad bash 2011 and was able to see the many production plaques that listed all the nick shows filmed there. Nick Studios is a historical landmark in the world of TV and Film! It deserves preservation.

  5. To me, Nick Studios had a experience like no other. People would run to the studio as soon as the park opened to have the thrill of being on television. Not to mention, people made money off of Nick Studios! People paid like a hundred bucks for tickets per person and ended up winning it right back on top of a N64, a computer, etc. on Double Dare 2000. Nick Studios is also a strange attraction given its closing. Not only did Blue Man Group only occupy one part of the whole setup, but half of the tech materials are sitting there collecting dust! People know that this is a goldmine of childhood memories and proceed to break into the stuff because they love not only the multitude of shows made there, but they loved the whole experience. So for Nick Studios to be barely redone, with all of these goodies randomly about, and the apparent fan base driven enough to get kicked out of universal for breaking and entering for Pete's sake. I think all it would require is a large group of fans support and it could reopen like nothing. Little would need done to reopen it anyways.

  10. Honestly, y cant they just leave it open? We dont need a tour. I already kno all the characters. That YouTube video I saw was awesome. I just wanna be able to take my girlfriend there & just chill there. Maybe even put some swings there. They leave the power on all the time. Might as well put it to good use. All they need to do is leave the door open & allow people to walk through. No money involved :D

  12. They actually move the time capsule a while ago to the Nick Resort elsewhere in Orlando. Also, Fox Sports Florida and its' sister network, SunSports occupy some of the space for production and editing purposes.
