Rumor About Universal's New Nighttime Spectacular

Just yesterday, Screamscape posted a very interesting rumor about one of the possible features of Universal Studios Florida's new nighttime show, which is rumored to debut either at the end of this year, or later in 2012:

While it’s too early to say much, there is a new rumor going around claiming that the new lagoon show may include some good old fashioned stunts in it once again, as a throwback to the old Dynamite Nights Stunt Spectacular show that ran at the park for the first decade or so.
Also it is worth pointing out that while the floating barges are indeed the old ones from the Universal 360 show, they have been modified and extended since then, which includes the addition of that new large rectangular hole in the center for “something”.

In our opinion, having back some human interaction in the show would be big step forward. Universal 360 was a very dry show, which contained very limited pyrotechnic effects (i.e., fireworks), and which was mostly a big advertisement of many of Universal's movies. A nighttime stunt show would surely draw a much larger crowd.

What do you personally think? Would you like to see Universal going back to having a stunt show? Or would you rather see something along the lines of  an improved Universal 360? Please, share your opinion with us!

  1. I know Universal can´t do a big firework because of people live so close to it. And there is no denying the Dynamite Nights Stunt Spectacular show was so much better then the 360 show. But I would be very disapointed. I would love to see a new stunt show on the Fear Factor Live stage (that show has overstayed it´s welcome from the start). But there is so much more that can be done with lazer, projections, waterfountains and fire that I rather had something like that then a show that gives you the feeling you miss half of the spectacle.

  2. I'm thinking something like World of Color.. since the barges have a big hole in the center, you could run piping through there...

  3. I think Universal should go for a version of the Magical Starlight Parade from Universal Japan:
