Fantasyland Update - Mermaids and Flying Elephants

You have already seen our special Fantasyland update with photos taken from the top of the Contemporary, but you are still not satisfied?Want to see more pictures of this land of Fantasy? Then, you will appreciate this new update, which covers the entire area of the "New Fantasyland," as well as the "Old Fantasyland." We'll start, as usual, from the former Fantasyland Skyway:

What has changed since our last visit? Well, we noticed that some of the trees have lost a couple of leaves...

Nearby, part of Peter Pan's Flight's queue is being repainted:

The new color is definitely very light:

The weather was perfect, the crowds were light... Everything was just great:

Still working on the new pavement, currently being poured near the Pinocchio Village Haus:

Say "goodbye!" to Dumbo, as he'll soon move to its new location, in the middle of Storybook Circus Land:

The highest tower of the Village Haus is receiving some attention too:

A quick look above the walls:

The Dreamlights are currently still being installed:

The new castle walls are really taking shape:

A huge piece of still was poured in the area that will soon become the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train:

Work have finally started for that ride!:

- The Beauty and the Beast's area -

Some pictures of this fantastic area:

Belle's Cottage:

Beast's Castle:

Belle's Village is taking shape fast!:

Moving over to the Little Mermaid's area:

Again, the big piece of steel:

- The Bay of the Little Mermaid -

Prince Eric's Castle:

Notice the different color of the smaller tower in the back:

Beautiful. We can't wait to go inside:

Some more rocks are currently being built:

The mesh is already on place:

Another quick look over the walls:

- Storybook Circus -

One big hole can now be seen in the former place on one of the emergency exit of the tent:

A look around the area:

The train station:

Dumbo's three-ring circus:

In the back, you can see the building that houses the load/unload area of The Great Goofini family coaster:

Nearby, we noticed that one of the new lights on the sign of the Hundred Acre Goods was not working:

Work also continue on the Enchanted Grove:

Probably bad news: new lights have finally been installed on the refurbished roof of the Mad Hatter's Tea Cups. Why bad news? Well, it may mean that the ride is not going to receive the much nicer glass roof after all...

It will surely look great at night once again, though. No doubt on that:

And that's all for today! Thank you very much for reading!

  1. I don't think that they were ever even planning to put the glass roof on it. This roof looks really good and fits the area better.

I don't expect any work to happen to the skyway area until 2012.

  4. Thanks for the comments, everyone.

@Nic Babyck: If you come at the end of February, you will find Dumbo closed, by the way. It will close soon... Also, if you're coming in February 2012 and have some more time, why not vising the real city of Orlando and the very nice Lake Eola area? If you have some money left over from all the expenses in the parks, you may also consider a visit to the new LEGOLAND Florida park.

  5. I need a clarification: wjat will replace what?
-Dumbo will move to the new location soon, what will take it's place?
-Snow White will leave its location when the new Snow White park area will be ready, what will replace the ancient area?

    Thanks for all this explanation!!!

  6. @Bigfoots
The old Snow White area will be replaced with a new Princess Meet and Greet area. As for Dumbo's old location; haven;t got a clue.

  7. yes, the temporary Princess meet n greet will be in the old snow white's scary adventures building and the mine coaster will take up some of Dumbo's old footprint, with the rest of the area being open space to accommodate a better flow of people threw fantasyland and into the new mini lands

  8. Dumbo's old location will be a walkway into the new section of Fantasyland. They don't need to replace it. In fact they're doubling it.
