Epcot Update: Work in Canada, Japan & More (Part 1)

The Food & Wine Festival is approaching really fast, and the park is almost ready to host it. Naturally, Disney also needs to care about the upkeep of its themed environment, therefore a lot of working walls and tarps can be found all over the place, but, no worries. Work around the park will not ruin your experience.

Let's see together what has been done in the past few days inside the park:

As you may have noticed from the first pictures, it was a rainy day, and the wind was blowing so much that... a piece of the roof of Epcot's entrance fell right in front of me. I was wondering if it would be okay to just keep it as a souvenir (I'm a theme park fan after all), but then I thought: "it's just a black piece of plastic":

The wind was very strong:

...as you can see:

Epcot is beautiful with any kind of weather:

Oh well, at least it wasn't raining, right?

Some work is being done on the LED screen that displays the time, located behind the Pin Trading Station:

Inside INNOVENTIONS East:

Work continues on the new "Habit Heroes" exhibit:

The House of Innoventions:

I had never seen so many people in this area before. It was due to the rain, of course:

I was then able to run to the Test Track pavilion:

A lot of new Chevrolet cars are now on display in the post-show:

They now also have on display a car from the Richard Petty Driving Experience:

And, of course, the ride got some nice, refurbished vehicles (CLICK HERE to see more photos):

Now, at the exit of the ride, you can just upload your on-ride photo in your Photopass Card:

Going to INNOVENTIONS West, we see that work is progressing on the Play it Safe play area:

They're completely redoing it:

All the Segway vehicles in Segway Central were strangely gone:

In total, there were only three exhibits open! In an entire pavilion! What a shame:

The Emptiness of this place makes me really sad:

Nothing new seems to be going on in the former location of "What's Your Problem":

Thanks for viewing. Now, please head to PART 2.

  1. Love that photo from the front of Epcot. It looks like the wind is blowing over the tombstones.

  2. You can't help but think that innovations days are numbered: more and more attractions closing with nothing replacing it.
This would be great news if it was to be replaced with a shiny new attraction, but with so much work already taking place at MK, I fear that this will soon become a empty shell, a forgotten corner merely gathering dust.
    Hope I'm wrong!
