Balzac Kiosks at DAK, MK, and Epcot Now Closed

Do you remember those small stands that used to sell huge inflatable balls? Yes? Well, they're closed now:

We regularly evaluate our offerings and make appropriate adjustments. As such, the Balzac kiosks located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Magic Kingdom Park have closed. At this time we are evaluating future opportunities for these areas.

Here's an example of a Balzac ball (picture courtesy of enasco.com):

Personally, it doesn't make a difference to us, but we thought we should share this with you anyway, since there may be some "Balzac Fans" among our readers. Has any of you ever bought one of those, by the way?

  1. Two months ago I was having lunch with my girlfriend at Epcot, sitting upstairs in the restaurant (I forgot the name) looking down on the Balzac stand.

I thought to myself "what's the use?". There was this guy throwing a huge ball at people but that was it. Felt a bit like a waste of time and space to be honest, poor execution of building a brand.

I had a Balzac when I was 15 years younger. I live in Holland btw, it used to be quite popular 15 years ago. But now we don't have the product anymore, anywhere.. It was actually the first time in ages I saw the Balzac's again in Epcot!

  3. We were just joking about them in June wondering if anyone ever actually bought them.. I think they were cool in the late 80's, but not since - I can't believe they lasted that long!
