The Confectionery Changes Color After Lengthy Rehab

One of the nicest-looking buildings of the Magic Kingdom is back, after a lengthy refurbishment. We're talking about the Confectionery, located just at the beginning of Main Street U.S.A. (after the Town Square Theater). Let's take a look together at how the building looks:

As you can see, the colors are much brighter now, and the covers of the windows are gone:

I am not sure, but I think I like better the old texture. It looks nice anyway, though:

Some new tributes have appeared on the windows:

"The Buena Vista Construction Company":

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Notice the presence of "Roy O. Disney" on the middle window, at the top of the building:

The side of the Confectionery has been completely refurbished too:

It looks great:

It reminds me a bit of the Little Mermaid building at Disney California Adventure, especially because of the huge shell in the front:

A reference to Hyperion Wharf or to Hyperion street?:

Going forward, we find another refurbished facade:

By the way, remember to check out the full Magic Kingdom update! Thanks for viewing, and have a great day.

  1. I don't think that this project is completely finished. The confectionery signs still need to be added, and I think that the window awnings will make a return sooner or later. They're not even done painting the names on the windows, so I am going to save my opinion for the complete project. So far I like the old design much better, however, the new yellow color scheme on the one facade looks GREAT!

  2. I work on Main Street, and last night after the park closed they were working on the outside. I am not sure what exactly they were working on, but I did see them working away on the roof of the overhang over the side walk.

  3. We are HUGE WDW fans and are VERY DISAPPOINTED so far, and we hope they are far from finished. The new design sticks out like a sore thumb when compared to the other buildings, and yes, bring back the awnings because the windows look naked. Not sure why they re-design a classic? The old design looked way better. The new design loses a lot of the details and Victorian charm. Again, not sure why they mess with a classic?
The biggest Disney blunder that we've seen in recent years is the destruction of the ride in Mexico at Epcot. They RUINED it! It was always one of our favorites, and they left out most of the great features with the rehab - the once spectacular ending is now a complete bore and only a shadow of what it once was. Adding the Donald Duck nephews was a great idea but they never should have subtracted what made this ride great. What were they thinking? Didn't they learn their lesson after they ruined the figment ride?
