Stores moving around at Downtown Disney

Changes, changes, changes. That's what makes the Orlando are so dynamic and diverse. We're seeing changes in theme parks, as they prepare new additions or even build from scratch (LEGOLAND, Orlando Thrill Park, or the more recent I-WALK Orlando). Change is what is occurring to Downtown Disney too.

Take a look at what will be changing soon, regarding some of the shops in Pleasure Island (and more):

[The Walt Disney World resort] continually evaluate[s their] mix of dining, shopping and entertainment offerings in the Downtown Disney Area in an effort to meet the evolving needs of [their] guests.
As [they] continue to pursue ways to energize and enhance Downtown Disney, Mickey’s Groove in the Downtown Disney West Side will be closing to be re-imagined into a new experience. The last day of operation for Mickey’s Groove will be April 2. All of the current products offered in Mickey’s Groove are also available at other locations in the Downtown Disney Area.

As we are working toward the re-imagining of Pleasure Island into Hyperion Wharf, Orlando Harley-Davidson will be moving from Pleasure Island to the Downtown Disney West Side into the former LittleMissMatched and Mickey’s Groove venues.
Orlando Harley-Davidson has been very successful on Pleasure Island, and will be a welcome addition to the other vibrant retail, dining and entertainment offerings on the West Side.
The new Orlando Harley-Davidson location on the Downtown Disney West Side is planned to open in July.

Also, one of our readers that prefers to remain anonymous (but that knows very well Downtown Disney) confirmed these news too, reporting:
"Wanted to let you know that [...] as of April 2 Mickey's Groove will be closing and the Harley Davidson store will be moving from Pleasure Island and will take over the Groove and Little Mismatched store. The new store will open in July."

So, these changes are real making Downtown Disney a mess at the moment, but soon, it will look like a whole different world, especially since Hyperion Wharf is coming!! What do you think?
