Village Beatniks leaving soon

A sad news for Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Village Beatniks (that play African music throughout the park) are leaving for good. Here's the news:

"At the Walt Disney World® Resort, we regularly evaluate our offerings and make appropriate adjustments based on creative and operational needs. To meet recent operational requirements at the Park, performances by the Village Beatniks will be discontinued at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, effective Sunday, September 26, 2010.  The Village Beatniks final performances will be on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

Our sincerest thanks to the Village Beatniks for enhancing the Guest experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since 1998."

I hope the best for the group, and I also hope we'll see a new group coming as soon as possible, since we all know that the current state of Disney's Animal Kingdom is not great.

Go to The Laughing Place for a video of them.

  1. I'm sad that they're leaving....
I liked their music, and they used to make the park a more enjoyable place, with their music (of course, appropriate to the theme of the park).
