Rumors, rumors.... and more rumors!

There are a lot of rumors this week too, so i wanted to share them with you:

From Screamscape:

- NEW YETI FIGURE?-

"We’ve heard a rumor that Imagineering has built up some designs for a new version of the Yeti figure… however this one will only feature limited motion compared to the original. I not sure if this is intended as a temporary replacement while they work to fix the main figure, or if they have simply given up on ever repairing the original Yeti. Don’t look for a new figure to arrive until at least early 2011."

- MONSTERS, INC. COASTER?-

"Good news for the Studios… and the on again / off again Monsters Inc. ride project is said to be back ‘ON’ again, looking to open up around 2014 this time. Don’t look for Disney to make any kind of announcement however until we get closer to November 2012… when Monsters Inc. 2 is going to hit theaters."

- FRONTIERLAND EXPANSION?-

"More rumors are starting to float about delayed the Pixie Hollow segment of the Fantasyland revamp in favor of adding something for “boys” in Frontierland to counter all the Princess focus in Fantasyland.  The big question of course is… what? There have been hardly any rumors ever about adding a new Frontierland attraction at the Magic Kingdom. Historically the only major attraction designed and never built would be the Western River Expedition, but I really don’t see that one happening. Anyone know more about what’s being considered?"

About the rumored Frontierland expansion here you are some more informations from

"The rumor mill is running at full throttle about Orlando’s mouse-eared empire possibly making changes at the Magic Kingdom.

The two most discussed rumors circulating about Walt Disney World include:

• Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland expansion, slated to open in two phases in 2012 and 2013, is already being retooled — specifically Pixie Hollow, the Disney fairy-themed area where Tinkerbell and friends would reside.

The reason: With an already princess-heavy theme with the construction of the Journey of the Little Mermaid ride and the Be Our Guest Restaurant themed after Beauty and the Beast, a section focused on fairies raises concerns about alienating Disney’s appeal to boys and not providing a broad appeal.

The Fantasyland expansion at the Magic Kingdom is slated to be completed in 2013.

• Other whispers circulating concern attempts by the Magic Kingdom to balance its Fantasyland expansion by bringing something new to Frontierland, its American Wild West and pioneer-themed area.

No firm details have surfaced about any Magic Kingdom changes and a Walt Disney World spokeswoman said there was no word about a retooling of Fantasyland or a Frontierland addition in the works for Disney’s top theme park, which recorded more than 17.2 million visitors last year.

But the idea is that something new and exciting (maybe a high-speed, thrill attraction) could be the yin to Fantasyland’s yang.
