News about Star Tours V.2

There are news about the brand new adventure that will open next year at both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Resort, Star Tours 2.

From Orlando Attractions Magazine:

In a “What’s Next” presentation at Disneyland this morning it was announced the new Star Tours attraction will be called “Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.”

More new information:
• The ride will feature multiple destinations, including a pod race and a trip to Coruscant. The above photo is of a StarSpeeder zipping through Coruscant
• The time period of the ride will be between the two sets of trilogies. (Anakin Skywalker had just become Darth Vader at the end of episode three).

The ride closes in Hollywood Studios on Sept. 8, 2010 and will reopen in 2011 in digital 3D.

So, the new attraction will never be the same twice!
What do you think? Are you looking forward to the change or you would like to see the attraction unchanged?

  1. It seems like everything is in 3D these days. 3D TV's, dozens of 3D movies. I would like it more if the new ride wasn't in 3D because some types of 3D hurt your eyes after a while

  2. I don't mind it being in 3D. Should be interesting to see the multiple storylines. This definitely helps re-rides. Star Tours will be infinitely more popular now. ;)

Just makes me wonder if they'll hire on Paul Reubens to do the pilot droid voice again. Frankly, I don't think the ride will be as fun without him doing the voice.
