More news on Summer Nightastic

The Central Florida News 13 recently had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes in the Magic Kingdom, where the 'new' Main Street Electrical parade is found.

Here's the complete report:

LAKE BUENA VISTA -- You’re about to experience something new after dark on Disney's Main Street. But for some of you, it's a nostalgia trip.
The Main Street Electrical Parade returns to the Magic Kingdom June 6 through Aug. 14.
"Bringing this parade back is a big step for us," said Paul Chychota, production manager.
The parade hasn't been in Orlando since 2001. But way before that - in fact, the same year Richard Nixon became president, 1972 - the parade originated in Disneyland in California.
Bringing back this pageant of illuminated floats means there must be some new stuff. If you're keeping count, there are 23 floats, half a million tiny, colorful lights, 2/3 mile of green LED string on the new Tinker Bell float, and 80 performers.

Here’s what else is new for 2010:
2 Pinocchio floats
Pixie Dust trails throughout the parade
Elliot’s wings are animated
LED fireworks on the Finale Flag Float
LED technology on the Title Drum
Updated music throughout the parade

Also new is the “Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Spectacular.” It’s supposed to the largest nightly display the Magic Kingdom has ever had.
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is adding new effects....

Also, if you want to see a lot of new pictures of the floats, go to Orlando Attractions magazine!
