The Orlando Tourism Bureau has been following the unprecedented events that have forced the closure of European air space. In our community, we have travelers that have been trying to return home since Wednesday, April 14.

The Orlando Tourism Bureau has reached out to its community and member organization to help support travelers that are affected by the closure of air service between Orlando and Europe. The following discounts and promotions are valid for travelers affected by the closures. Information provided below was received directly from these organizations. Please contact them directly receive more information on the offers.


Attractions 


SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is offering free one-day admission to any United Kingdom, Irish or Continental European tourists stranded in Florida due to the interruption in international air travel caused by Icelandic volcanic ash. The offer is valid starting Saturday, April 17, 2010 at SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica waterpark and Busch Gardens Tampa.

Stranded tourists must present to the parks' front gate Guest Services window a valid return airline ticket from Wednesday, April 14, 2010 through Wednesday, April 21, 2010 or until normal flight schedules resume.

One ticket will be offered at each park for each return flight ticket presented. Children under age 3 are free.

Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Orlando Resort is giving guests holding an expired Universal ticket and who can show proof of a delayed flight an extra day's admission to their theme parks.  

They are also allowing guests who have been staying at one of their onsite hotels to extend their stay at a 50 percent discount off regular rates with proof of a delayed flight. Universal Orlando Resort will not be charging cancellation fees for those visitors who booked a package through Universal's travel company and who have had their travel plans impacted by the volcano. www.universalorlando.com 



Walt Disney World Resort Resort

To assist travelers stranded in the Central Florida area as a result of the volcanic eruption, Walt Disney World Resort is providing a complimentary one-day Park Hopper with the Water Park Fun & More option on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 20 and 21. 

The complimentary ticket may be obtained at Guest Relations or at a Vacation Planning booth. Guests must visit a redemption location each day to take advantage of this offer. Guests must simply show a cancelled plane ticket, e-ticket or expired boarding pass (for European regions impacted by the volcano) as well as proper photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license entry into the Park for that day. This offer is open to all Guests who experienced a delayed flight to Europe. This includes citizens of any country, including the U.S.

Wet ‘n Wild

Wet ‘n Wild is reaching out to stranded travelers who have been affected by the closed European air space. Wet ‘n Wild will assist these European travelers, by offering free admission to any United Kingdom, Irish, Continental European or other International tourist stranded in Florida due to the interruption in international air travel caused by Icelandic volcanic ash.



If the guest shows proof of their unused return flight ticket showing an original return date of April 14 through “today”, we will admit them to Wet ‘n Wild for free (Note: Definition of “Today” will continue to change until flights resume. Currently expected to resume 4/21.) Limit one free ticket per unused flight coupon. Parking charge applies. Wet ‘n Wild reserves the right to cancel this offer at any time.

Bok Tower Gardens

Bok Tower Gardens will offer free admission to tourists stranded in Florida due to the interruption in international air travel caused by Icelandic volcanic ash. Stranded tourists must present a valid return airline ticket from Wednesday, April 14 through Wednesday, April 21 or until normal flight schedules resume. One ticket will be offered for each return flight ticket presented. Children under age 5 are free.

Bok Tower Gardens, a National Historic Landmark, voted Florida’s Best Garden, is located 55 miles southwest of Orlando and 60 miles east of Tampa near Lake Wales, Florida, and is open every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., last admission at 5 p.m.

  1. Thanks for update to us. It is really good news, actually my cousins did reservation of Universal Orlando Resort but do not arrived at there on reservation date and this is really surprising news. Now they will be there in 01 May.
