WDW's New Fantasyland - Artworks

Some of you may have already seen these artworks, but it's good to see them once again to discover new particulars. If you haven't seen them yet, the you discovered a whole new world! Let's see:

This is the rendering of the new area...

this is a very detailed map of the New Fantasyland that I found at WDWmagic

This is one of the Highlights of Fantasyland: the new enormous dark-ride (with meet-and-greet) of the Little Mermaid!

a concept art of the interior scenes

another concept art

I found this image (and other) at Disney and More blog, and I saw that the shown omnimover could be used in the dark-ride! Do you like them?

again, the potential omnimover

Cinderella's chateau will include a meet-and-greet and a show!

the experience will be great for girls...

...and for boys too!

Beast's castle and Belle's cottage

there will also be a full recreation of Belle's village!

the show inside Belle's castle

This will be great too! You'll be able to dine in three different rooms (that will include the great ballroom as shown above). They will be self-services during lunch, and table-service during dinner. There will be also a n audio-animatronic figure of  Lumiére that will interact with the guests (like Ratatouille at Epcot's "Les Chefs de France")

Gaston's tavern, where you'll eat turkey and smoked meat

Aurora's cottage, a sort of interactive meet-and-greet ( it's especially for girls...)

WOW! The new Dumbo will be really extensive! It will double in size, having an interactive queue (with air-condition too!!)! You'll never get bored again!

This will be the new Fairy area, coming in 2013. Nothing is known exactly for now.
That's all about the New Fantasyland. Do you like it? I hope so!

  1. I remember when getting your photo taken with a character was a bonus when visiting a Disney park, not a queued attraction. Although I am glad to see something finally happening to The Magic Kingdom a plethora of meet and greets is not of interest to me and a marketing ploy to be billed as "The largest expansion in the history of The Magic Kingdom" for only one new dark ride lifted from DCA. I showed my kids this post,(two boys, 10 and 5 and one girl,7) and their comments were, 'lame' and 'boring," followed by "I'd rather see Harry Potter at Universal." This is a big disappointment.

  2. Count me in for the Belle section. She was my favorite when I was younger...This looks cute.

  3. To anonymous: I understand that the new Fantasyland will feature only a new dark-ride (together with meet-and greets and a village), but what about the WWoHP? The only real new addition will be the dark-ride, while all the other rides (Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragons Challenge) were already existing attractions, they only re-themed the queues and the whole area around them! It's the same thing, if you think about it, even thought I believe Fantasyland will be bigger than Universal's new area. I fully respect your opinion, but I think that when the new Fantasyland will open, you will change opinion (at least partially).

  4. Don't be so quick to judge, Anon. Everything could change when you and your kids are there in person rather than looking at concept art. I'm sure people saw the concept art for Pirates of the Caribbean and had a similar feeling, but look at where that ride is now in Disney history :)
