Disney's River Country

Maybe many of you will remember Disney's River Country water park.

It was located on the Bay lake, on the right hand side of Magic Kingdom. It was the first Disney water park ever. Indeed it opened on June 20, 1976. It was really a successful water park, since many people went there.

Unfortunately, the park permanently closed on November 1, 2001 (the official announcement was made on January 20, 2005 , a little bit more than 3 years later), following the closure of Discovery Island, also called Treasure Island (you can see more information about it HERE)

Here you can see the Park map:

And here there are some photos from the past (from FLICKR)

And now, you may want to know if the park will ever reopen, don't you?
Well, I've very bad news. Indeed, you can see HERE tons and tons of up-close photos of the park in the recent years, and you will see in the bad shape it is right now. So, will it ever reopen?
DON'T THINK SO.

  2. Thanks Bigfoots, but remember that River Country was a well-known water-park, but only in the past few years it has been forgotten... that's really sad...
