Multiple Roads to Be Impacted by Construction Work at the Walt Disney World Resort
The Walt Disney World Resort continues to grow at a very fast pace, and even larger number of Guests are expected to visit the area in the coming years. For this reason, many of the roads around property are being expanded, resulting in some temporary closures (including the ones outlined below) that may impact your visit in the coming weeks. As a reminder, these impacts are subject to change due to weather conditions or operational needs.
1) Single lane closures around property on June 22
Lane closures will occur on Victory Way and southbound World Drive (near Car Care Center).
2) Inbound lanes in Magic Kingdom parking closed in the evening of June 22
From Magic Kingdom park close through 6 a.m., all traffic will be routed to use the exit ramp onto Vista Blvd. Drivers traveling to the Magic Kingdom parking lot should follow the detour onto Seven Seas Drive, then Floridian Way to use the access gate.
3) Southbound World Drive closed in the evening of June 22
From Magic Kingdom park close through 6 a.m., a detour will be in place using Seven Seas Drive to access southbound World Drive.
4) Overpass Road closed nightly June 24–29 from 11 p.m.–6 a.m.
Drivers should use Buena Vista Drive to access Backstage Lane and Bonnet Creek Parkway. Please note the closure on Tuesday, June 26 will begin at 1 a.m.
5) Eastbound Osceola Parkway closed this evening
Westbound Osceola Parkway will be open. During this time, drivers should take the exit ramps onto World Drive to reach their destination (highlighted in yellow). Drivers traveling to ESPN Wide World of Sports or northbound Victory Way will be detoured left or right onto Victory Way.
6) Osceola Parkway closures beginning June 24
Beginning the night of Sunday, June 24 through the morning of Tuesday, June 26, eastbound Osceola Parkway (east of the Victory Way intersection) will be closed nightly from 11 p.m.–6 a.m. Westbound Osceola Parkway will be open. During this time, drivers should take the exit ramps onto World Drive to reach their destination (highlighted in yellow). Drivers traveling to ESPN Wide World of Sports or northbound Victory Way will be detoured left or right onto Victory Way.
Beginning the night of Thursday, June 28 through the morning of Friday, June 29, westbound Osceola Parkway will be closed from 10 p.m.–5 a.m. Eastbound Osceola Parkway will be open. During this closure, the ramp from I-4 onto westbound Osceola Parkway will be closed. Drivers will detour from I-4 onto International Drive and U.S. Highway 192 to reach their destination.
Remember to always travel safely throughout property and remain alert, as roadways continue to change and grow along with the Walt Disney World Resort.
