Major Innoventions East & West Closures Confirmed

In the past weeks, rumors pointing to the possible closure of Innoventions West started circulating around the internet. While many received information from very reliable sources, we were all still waiting for an official written statement by the Walt Disney World Resort. Earlier this morning, an official announcement confirmed the rumors: Innoventions West will close to be refurbished. At the same time, something will also change inside Innoventions East.

Here is the complete message released today:

"The last day of operation for the exhibits in Innoventions West has been changed to April 29 , 2015 including THINK presented by IBM, The Great Piggy Bank Adventure presented by T. Rowe Price, and Where’s the Fire? presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance. We have enjoyed hosting them at Innoventions and thank them for the experiences they provided to our Guests.

Innoventions West will close temporarily starting April 30, so we can begin preparing that space for a new experience. We look forward to sharing more about it in the future.

Additionally, after reaching the end of our agreement, Vision House presented by Green Builder Media in Innoventions East will no longer be available starting April 22, 2015. Guests will still be able to enjoy a variety of exhibits throughout Innoventions East, including Take a Nanooze Break, The Sum of all ThrillsStormstruck, and Habit Heroes."

Current rumors point to having new exhibits inside Innoventions West in the future instead of an entirely new attraction. We will continue to keep up-to-date in regards to this major project.

  1. Few Words to describe these changes, in which I think is a great thing that they are updating Innoventions, due to its popularity in the 90s an decline in the late 2000s: BIG HERO 6!
