After fifteen years of highly successful operations, the NASCAR Sports Grille (a quick-service restaurant located next to Universal Studios Florida) will be officially closing its doors on November 1st, 2014 to make room for an exciting new concept which will soon be announced by the Universal Orlando Resort. The announcement was first released on the resort's official Facebook page (it has now been removed), but was later also posted internally.

"It has been a terrific run over the past 15 years and we are proud to have been a mainstay attraction in a district that sets the pace for dining and entertainment," stated Kelby Giles, operating partner of NASCAR Sports Grille. "We have worked hard to be an excellent concept and partner and to help Universal CityWalk establish itself as a premier international dining and entertainment destination and we understand that CityWalk has an ongoing commitment to bring in new experiences. CityWalk is in the midst of significant, exciting growth and we look forward to watching it grow and evolve."

NASCAR Sports Grille in Universal's CityWalk will remain open for full lunch and dinner service through November 1st, closing forever at 10 p.m. Make sure to continue to follow OTPN for future announcements regarding the new additions that are planned for this space in the near future.

That's really too bad. The food wasn't great but the ambiance was fun! I loved the oil can drink holders!

Now we know why they didn't refresh their faded sign.

Now there will only be one place left at City Walk with a happy hour, Red Coconut Club (7-9pm)

@First Anonymous: They actually did replace the sign (after years and years of reporting that), but it seems like it came a bit too late, unfortunately.

Do wwe still want to build a hall of frame at city walk?
