Beginning today (September 21, 2014), work will start to make adjustments to the lighting, handrails, and staircases of the various monorail stations located around the Walt Disney World Resort, beginning with the Transportation and Ticket Center. The construction is expected to be complete by late 2015 and will not impact operating hours or the Guest experience. Monorail service will continue to be available from all stations while work is taking place.

The heaviest trafficked places in the world have to be: airports, subway stations, Magic Kingdom.

I've thought about how the lighting around the monorails could be more theatrical, or thematic, but the overwhelming requirement is for visibility/safety not "ooo ahhhh"
