Disney Springs Project News: March 23-29 Update

This afternoon we are going to share with you a few updates regarding the major project that revolves around Downtown Disney. There is really a lot that is going to change soon, and some of the stores, restaurants, and attractions that are soon going to be replaced have already been closed down (the latest one of them to close was Pollo Campero).
Continue reading to see what exactly is going on in the various sections of Downtown Disney this week, as well as what is going to take place in the coming months:

Here is a snapshot of several projects underway this week at the Downtown Disney Area.
  • A portion of parking lots E, F and G are closed. Directional signage will be in place for pedestrian and vehicle passage along a modified route.
  • Pollo Campero, Bodie’s All-American Grill and BabyCakes NYC are now closed.
  • Watercraft routes have temporarily changed as work on the Marketplace Causeway continues. When complete by the end of this year, this over-the-water pedestrian causeway will connect Guests from LEGO Imagination Center to Rainforest Café at Downtown Disney Marketplace.
  • Work has started on phase 1 of a series of elevated spaces along the West Side promenade that will provide shade, with one structure offering an overlook to the activity below. These elements will be built over the next several months, complete in spring 2015. To support this development, walls are up at West Side between Bongos Cuban Cafe and the Starbucks project site.
  • Bridge 4 between the West Side and Pleasure Island is temporarily closed through this fall as work on The Landing (currently Pleasure Island) continues. Additional temporary closures include the “top of the hill” on Pleasure Island and the nearby Bridge 4 restrooms.
  • Work is in progress at the Lilly Pad near Fulton’s Crab House and Portobello to prepare the area for The Landing. This work is expected to be complete this summer.
Thank you for your attention. We will continue to keep you up-to-date in regards to the status of this project.
