Dillon's Updates: Quick Multiple Park Update (PART 3)

Universal Studios Florida

Still waiting for Twirl 'N' Hurl to be added to this sign at the entrance of the park:

 Waiting to go in...

With Despicable Me 2 just coming out recently, this line has been long for a while...

If you didn't know already, the banner is back up and looks great.  Makes the ride look much better:

While you are riding the coaster, look to your left in the back lot. You will see the new train that will be connecting the two new parks. The engine and all has just arrived and waiting to be put on. Only place to see it though is from the coaster itself. The picture below kind of gives you an idea on where to look:

Blues Brothers are waiting to be called in:

Delayed opening for Transformers: The Ride - 3D... bummer...

Well we are in now and in the single rider line.  We don't have time for lines ;)

Revenge of the Mummy:

Despicable Me Meet n Greet was coming out of the back:

We are hungry and want a krusty burger!:

Apparently so was everyone else:

Best doughnut I've ever eaten:

There it is. The Krusty Burger with BUZZ Cola:

Twirl 'N' Hurl is now open! Fun ride for the family:

No POV videos allowed. They were very strict on this for some reason:

Inside Twister:

Still going at it...

I think everyone was at the Despicable Me ride...

OK, remember the power outage at Universal Studios? Well, I was riding Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and we were waiting to go into the station, so I looked to my left and saw that a building had been burned down in the back. It made me wonder if this had something to do with the power outage at Universal Studios. What do you guys think? There is no doubt there was for sure a fire but no media coverage on it:

Well, it looks like we just finished our visit to the park in time, because a storm was blowing in:

Well I hope everyone enjoyed my update. A few interesting subjects got covered. Keep on checking back here at Orlando Theme Parks News for more interesting updates on local attractions here in Orlando, FL. That's it for now! - Dillon M.

  6. Great update, lots of little things here there I don't think I've seen before!
Universal Orlando really are leading the way in terms of development and general overall presentation/experience right now. Don't get me wrong, I love Disneyworld, but Universal really are moving in the right direction to surpass Disney. In the 3/4 years it's taken Disney to break ground on Avatar land, Universal have given us an entire new land, a redeveloped land, 4 new 'E' ticket rides, another new land with further 'E'tickets plus even further developments in the pipe line. Universal really deserve to be the market leaders.
Disney frustrates me because they just seem to be relying on the Disney brand to keep them on top, which they still are, for now. Ok, they opened their Fantasyland expansion, (though still not complete 2/3 years after groundbreaking) with some amazing theming and experiences, but so far no real attractions to write home about. Then I suppose you could include test track which again cool, was essentially an overlay of their previous ride. I am aware that Disney are also spending millions or developing their technology resort wide, but is this really going to interest the public?
Disney really have 3 parks that need some major attention/expansion particularly in my view Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom to compete with Universal again. Yes, there maybe rumors and plans in the pipe line, but at the rate they seem to work at Universal will be on their 50th expansion/re-development by the time they're done. Imagineers need to get there head out of the clouds and change their ideas into reality much quicker!!
This all said, I love Disney and say these things more out of frustration because I want them to providing the no.1 experience which I feel is slipping right now. If I were only able to visit one park, I would now choose Universal which would have been the other way only a few years back.
Anyway, sorry, what was meant to be a quick comment turned into a bit of an essay!

  7. Just a quick question. I was wondering if anyone heard anything regarding the A Celebration of Harry Potter event that takes place at universal in Jan? Are there any rumors that parts of the expansion might be opening then? It seems early but why have a celebration in Jan if the expansion won't be ready yet? Seems like they would hold a celebration once they have new attractions or areas to showcase? Thoughts from anyone???

  10. @OTPN It tells too simple to me. Your website tells different than any other news blog. Those updates are fast picture without quality and perception and does not focus on projects or novelties. The comments on the pictures feels too High School-ish. Sorry Dillon but I think your place will be on your own blog.

  11. Guigui,

Thank you for your opinion. You are more than welcome to express your opinion. I will say I'm far from High Schoolish ;) Also, I noted in one of the post that the pictures are quick shots from my PHONE and currently working on getting a camera to take better pictures with. I visit the parks almost daily and have multiple connections in every park in the area. If you have any further critique, feel free to email me personally at bizsolsystems@outlook.com I'll be glad to answer any further questions or suggestions you have. :)

  12. Good job on your update. I've had passes to both parks for a few years and for the first time, I'm starting to get more excited about upcoming trips to Universal than Disney World.
