Universal Studios: Kang & Kodos Are Coming (PART 5)

Welcome to PART 5 of this new Universal Studios Florida photo-report (PART 4 can be found here)

Here you are a few more photos of the future London waterfront area:

From the other side:

That's the future train station:

Our signature panoramic photo (FULL-SIZE):

We have reached Disaster!:

Rumor: are new fountains or lasers coming to the popular Universal's Cinematic Spectacular show?:

We have noticed a lot of buoys around the lagoon:

Maybe they mean nothing, who knows:

Why was that electrical box (?) covered? So many (useless) questions!:

A quick look at Transformers: The Ride:

Not too busy:

New York:

The entrance to the Revenge of the Mummy ride was recently rerouted again:

Guests can again skip the "museum-themed" part of the queue line:

Minor work taking place near the main entrance of the arcade:

Work on the Priscilla Hotel facade continues:

Time to leave the park:

...and Despicable Me - Minion Mayhem still had a very long line:

And that is all. Wow, it took us a lot of time to put this update together. We may have taken way too many pictures this time. That said, we really want to hear your comments and opinions about all that the Universal Orlando Resort is doing. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the "comments" section located right below this post!

  1. I have a genuine wondering without wanting to start an old ongoing debate here...
What is it about the London-themed Harry Potter and Hogsmeade train station that excludes them from part of your moral reasoning to not present Harry Potter themed pictures? I am very curious. And also happy that we get to see this amazing construction... but will we cease to see it once completed?!

  2. Well, Anonymous, the London side of this expansion actually has nothing to do with Harry Potter.. It is just another area of the park themed after a city (like New York, San Francisco, Hollywood, etc...). It's what is inside that is going to be Harry Potter-related. Hope this clears up your doubts!

Also, thanks for understanding our reasons behind this choice. It is an important thing for us.

    1. Again, with all due respect, it is completely Harry Potter related. The building facades being used are no where near each other in Londom and have been chosen here as they are iconic in Harry Potter, including the fictional Leaky Cauldron as one of these buildings. The very high buildings are Grimmauld Place, again a fictional street from Harry Potter that does not exist in London. I love seeing this construction but I think I'm trying to understand your moral principles when half of the facades are fictional from Harry Potter, and the others are chosen to represent the London world of Harry Potter.

  3. First of, thank you for the amazing update. I love to see all the photo's, we love them!
I thought maybe guests would not go to Universal this year and wait until Potter part II opens but the park is getting a lot of guests and good for them.
I visited the parks (Uni, Islands and Sea World) 2.5 years ago to see the Harry Potter expansion but also to watch the beautiful Macy's parade and the Grinch Musical for the first time (loved them all). But now they added so much I'm sure this November I'll choose these parks over Disney to experience Antarctica and the Turtle attraction at Sea World and Despicable Me!, the new parade, the new night time lagoon show, Transformers 3D the ride, Springfield and Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl'. That's an enormous amount of new stuff for me to enjoy.
I have a question. On 2 of the photo's you can see something written on the UFO's of Twirl 'n' Hurl but I can't make out what it says. Could you enlarge them and check them out they are:

    Thanks again!

  4. Hello, Don!

Unfortunately, we do not have the high-resolution versions of those photos. We tried to read what's written on the side of the flying saucers, but we couldn't understand (it's blurry). Sorry about that!

You can be sure that we will take a closer look at the ride's cars as soon as the attraction opens to the public, though!

  5. Have I missed something here - why don't you show Harry Potter pictures? Did J.K. Rowling run over your dog?

  6. Great Sam, thanx as allways!
Did You get may mail about Antarctica?

  7. Thanks guys I look forward to your next update. So much mystery now on what's written on the ride vehicles. :-)

@Anonymous I don't share OTPN's vision either but we all live (thankfully) in a free country and I think you could be more respectful to people's believes and opinions. If we all did that the world would be a much better place.

  8. @Anonymous: That's funny, but no, you can rest assured that no dog was harmed.

@OldBlueEyes: Yes, I received your message. I am very, very sorry I wasn't able to respond to you yet, but I'll do that today!

@Don: Thank you very much for your comment. We appreciate when our Readers understand and respect our views and opinions. We do exactly the same. We may not agree with others, but we absolutely respect them. Thanks again!

  9. I know this has probably been asked to death, but when are the estimated opening dates for the Springfield section and the London/Basically-Confirmed-But-Not-Really-Harry-Potter section? I was hoping to at least see Springfield completed by the time I go to HHN this year. Also, please keep up the wonderful work, I love your website!

  10. Hey, The "Museum-Themed" part of Revenge of the Mummy was temporarily closed due to the AC not working. It is currently reopened for everyone to enjoy
