We’re highlighting one great movie per day that’s currently playing on Disney Family Movies. Today it’s a return to the banks of the River Seine, France, with Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame II  from 2002.

One of the great joys of discovering animated films you may not have caught is the opportunity to catch up with some old friends! In this case we’re about to embark on a swashbuckling, romantic adventure in this sequel to 1996’s classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame, based on the iconic novel by Victor Hugo.

Having vanquished Frollo, Quasimodo embarks upon new adventures with the help of Esmerelda and Phoebus’ son, Zephyr. But old problems arise when he must battle Sarousch— at the same time he falls in love with Sarousch’s beautiful assistant, Madellaine.

The film features an all-star voice over cast that includes returning stars Tom Hulce, Kevin Kline and Demi Moore, as well as new additions Haley Joel Osmet and Jennifer Love Hewitt, in addition to Disney greats Jim Cummings (currently the voice of Winnie-the-Pooh) and April Winchell (Kim Possible, Phineas & Ferb, Goof Troop). The film was penned by Jule Selbo, who also worked on Cinderella II. So grab the family and catch up with Quasimodo tonight!

Pass the popcorn (and maybe some good French cheese) and enjoy the trailer (CLICK HERE).

Love-ly fact: Voice-over star Jennifer Love Hewitt co-wrote one of the film’s five original songs, “I’m Gonna Love You”. Check out her music video for the song HERE.
