Universal Studios: Transformers Goes Vertical (Part 3)

Thank you for continuing to read this update (PART 2 can be found here).

There's more going on just behind the new waterfront! Indeed, another gigantic building (rumored to be the future site of an indoor roller coaster) has gone finally started to go vertical!:

No more midway games. We told you:

Let's now move on and check out the status of the work on the new Simpsons' midway game:

New colors:

Most of the games have already been installed, and they look to be all related to the Simpsons characters:

New light fixtures will soon be installed:

Can you see him?:

Yes, it's the hairy guy(s)!:

Still to be painted:

Krusty:

The other side of the games:

Some insistent rumors are saying that the International Food Film Festival area will become part of a new Springfield theme area:

We think that it would be great to see this area have a better theme:

The photo-spot near Central Park is again missing:

To conclude, the Emmy Award nominees are again displayed along Hollywood Boulevard:

And this is all! We sure hope you have enjoyed this latest Universal Studios update, and we look forward to read your comments and opinions about all the great things happening around the parks!

  1. the persistant rumours call for a krusty burger to replace IFFF this would tie in the complete area and with the new meet and great being located to the side of the kwik e mart would give universal a very nice 'land' to complement the one of hp being built opposite, readers also note that the land to side of simpsons inbetween itself and mib will cleared next year for an unspecified expansion once all current projects are complete

  2. Where are your sources for this?? cause that's exactly what I've been waiting for to open that world Expo land up ... the amount of progress being made at the moment is just crazy ..they were not joking when they said they would focus on the Studios after HP opened in Islands.

  3. Harry Potter part deux, Transformers, Krusty Burger and expanded Simpsons meet and greet. Even though it's all rumored, that's still an impressive amount of work being done. 2014 (hopefully when all of this is finished) can't come soon enough.

  4. Universal Orlando just continues to impress. I think Theme Park Insider said it best, "Universal stopped making Universal theme parks, and started making Disney ones instead"

  5. just thinking how stupid we're all going to look if the expansion rumours turn out to be inaccurate lol!

seriously though, there seems so much certainty that Universal is getting Transformers and Potterworld pt2 you'd think Universal would pull their finger out and make an official announcement. By the time Universal do make the announcement everyone will have the attitude of "yeah, we knew that already"
kinda takes the "wow" out of a press conference!

  6. I'm also waiting for an anouncement from Universal but I'm sure they WOW us because we haven't seen any artwork of the shops, restaurants and attractions and I'm sure I need clean underware after they have shown than lol!

  8. This is all so very exciting! Disney better watch out.. Universal will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years!

*sigh* every time I look at those glass panels and domes on the Simpsons I think, yeah. this building design used to have a purpose. X-) Seriously though, it's nice that they are finally putting in real midway games to make the area more immersive. The Krusty themed restuarant will help as well. I hope that they also merge and theme the sides of MIB so that it becomes it's own little "land" once Simpsons and Potter surround it.

  9. it wouldn't surprise me if Universal continued to work on Studios after Transformers and HP open in the park, i mean it took them 7 years to make any significant improvement to IOA with the addition of HP. Would love to see a Krusty Burger open beside Kwik-E-Mart, and make it into Springfield. Would actually like to see a Moe's open as well, maybe that would be more suited for the Citywalk and not the park though.

  10. I don't think that the vast majority of theme park visitors read theme park rumor and news sites constantly, so my guess is the total number of aware visitors is far far less than you think. If they announce too early that a huge new Harry Potter or Transformers ride is coming, but it will be 1-2 years away there could be a lot of people thinking "Well, then we'll just move our trip back a year and go when everything opens." There is no real reason to announce the expansion until current crowds diminish and you need some reason to build excitement to come back, not to come later.
