Fantasyland Update: Coaster Track & More (PART 5)

Welcome the final part of this new Fantasyland photo-report (PART 4 can be found HERE).

The Yellow tent in Storybook Circus (future seating area) has received new themed lights:

Some new colored lanterns:

In addition to being a nice area to rest, Guests will also be able to find here the permanent FASTPASS machines for Dumbo the Flying Elephant and the The Barnstormer Starring Great Goofini. No more long trips to Mickey's Philarmagic!:

Dumbo's FASTPASS sign:

The Barnstormer's FASTPASS sign:

By the way, over at the Barnstormer, we saw these new themed poles used for the overflow section of the ride:

Also, we liked the fact that Disney went as far as continue the Storybook Circus theme even in this temporary Alice in Wonderland area (which will be removed at the beginning of November):

Very Circus-like sign:

Going back to the "older" section of Fantasyland, we felt in the mood of exploring "It's a Stroller World":

Work on one of It's a Small World's emergency exits continue:

Future FASTPASS+ entrance? Very likely (notice also the two separate queue lines):

Tangled's beautiful themed area is coming along very nicely:

A look above the walls:

A bridge:

The new restrooms:

More and more rock-work is being built all around Fantasyland. And we LOVE it!:

From Liberty Square:

You did it! You survived our latest photo-update of colossal proportions! OK, we may be exaggerating a bit, but this was definitely one of our biggest-ever updates. If you truly enjoyed it, please, feel free to post your own comments/thoughts/opinions about it! We'd love to hear what you have to say.

  1. What a fantasmic update! Cinderella Castle is sure representing the mood from Nightmare Before Christmas. Halloween and Christmas mixing together. The Storybook Circus marquee looks spectacular and the amount of detail at Journey of the Little Mermaid is stupendous. Thanks for all the hard work of bringing us these great photos.

  2. Regarding the yellow tent, even though tables an chairs are supposedly going to be set up near there, it's not going to be a quick service food location--it's going to be FastPass distribution only.

  4. Thank you for the great update! My family and I were just there this month and I am now suffering from post WDW depression but your updates help. Love all the details going into MK. Can't wait until our next trip next year!

  5. Great update. Thanks so much for all you do. You guys are the best at what you do.

I love the way Fantasyland is looking. It really is turning out to be quite beautiful. I like how Disneyland and MK each have their own distinct looks and theme. Tons of detail here.

However, is this how Shanghai's is going to look? Almost a direct copy? The castle already looks the same.

  6. It all looks very nice except for the entrance sign of storybook. When you get from the station you look at it's back. Will another sign be placed on that side?

The Tangled area looks very ornate and expansive to only be a place to tangle my tingeling so to say. That would be bad investment so I guess Disney wants to generate there money in the form of at least one shop and a meet and greet.

  7. there is no possible way the yellow tent is for fastpass distribution only, I dont know where Phillip gets his information its wrong. Just look on the many Discussion forums for aerial view. there is substantial backstage area for there to be nothing else in that tent besides fastpass machines.

  9. Wow, Thanks for this huge update. We are going to be there in Early November, and I'm hoping that there will be more than the announced soft openings. I'd love to have the chance to see some of these new attractions, but then again, more new things to see next time. I am always appreciative of the updates.
As for the discussion here about the third Storybook Circus Tent, I can see both sides of that. I have to agree that it doesn't make much sense to have such a large tent and backstage area for just fastpass. I could see this being a location of circus themed foods...popcorn, peanuts, cotton candy, drinks, etc... but maybe not the traditional quick service. More like Casey's Corner. There really isn't much of a food offering in Storybook Circus, and I can't imagine that Disney would pass on the opportunity. then again, I don't recall food in Toon Town.
Thanks Again for the updates. As always, keep them coming.

  11. Why is there going to be a huge meet and greet area just for 2 characters...it looks so elaborate as well! I don't get it? I'm from the uk and the film weren't as big here but I really can't see a huge meet and greet going well when rapunzel coulda gone with the princesses?

  12. All indications are that Rapunzel will M&G with the other princesses and there will not be an M&G near the new restrooms. Part of the purpose for building that area is to open up the bottleneck that was always there, putting in a M&G would defeat that purpose.

As for the yellow tent I originally thought it was going to be food service also, but now I think it will just be fastpass and a seating area. There have been building permits for kiosks through out the area for Popcorn, Preztels and Hot Dogs, and we know sweet treats will be sold in the merch tent so that doesn't leave much else for the yellow tent if it was food service. Look at the pictures during the construction there doesn't appear to be a door between the backstage area and the tent which wouldn't make sense if the tent was food service. I am thinking the backstage building is just a support area for the food carts.
