Disney Movie Summer Games: Daily Update (July 29)

Here is today's update on the Olympic Summer Games, presented by Disney Family Movies. Enjoy:

Sunday, July 29th DFM Summer Games Update: Already these Summer Games have featured so much drama! Swimmer Ryan Lochte took gold in the 400 meter-individual, with Michael Phelps failing to reach the podium; China winning the Games' first gold, with Yi Siling conqueroring in air rifle shooting; and, heartbreakingly, the Irish gymnast Kieran Behan, an Olympian who defied his doctor's odds that he might ever walk again after a botched leg operation and suffered brain-damage during training, failing to qualify for the finals in either event but refusing to be seen as anything but a fighter.

For the Games' Day Two, we'll see an incredible 24 different sports playing out all over London, from the preliminary men's basketball, with Team USA taking on France (on Twitter: @usabasketball) to the medal event of the women's 100 fly, with American Dana Vollmer having set a Games record in the preliminaries (on Twitter: @USA_Swimming). But perhaps no event is cooler than canoe slalom, in which kayaks are guided through river rapids. Follow @London2012 for more updates!
