Kilimanjaro Safaris: Photo-Tour (June 2012)

The Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom is not just an attraction. It is an adventure through fantastic reproduction of some of the most adventurous places on earth. It is definitely a great experience that cannot be explained in words. Today we bring you some photos taken on-ride. We hope you will enjoy them:

Let's first venture through the queue line, which has some really great theming... just like the rest of the ride:

There are still a few references to poaching, even though the story-line was recently changed drastically:

A map of the Reserve (CLICK HERE for a high-resolution image):

One of the three loading stations (that was not used that day, causing a long line, by the way):

But here we are, in the Savannah:

Some work was being done in the area, by the way:

...and all the ant mounds have been repainted:

Now, back to the animals:

Beautiful:

A young one:

A giraffe:

Two more:

Elephants:

One of the stops included in the new Wild Africa Trek expedition:

Cheetahs:

More animals:

Oh, and since we are here, we also wanted to report that one of the faux Baobab trees near Pride Rock (the lions' section of the safari) is currently being repainted:

You can see it better in these next photos:

And this should be all for now.

We hope you will soon have the opportunity of seeing all these great animals in person! See you real soon.

  2. Not that it matters all that much, but I really do miss the opening day storyline because it gave it a feel like you were really out there. Now with the spiel cut down and out and the addition of the African trek stations it feels more like a Busch gardens attraction
