LEGOLAND Florida Photo-Galley: The Beginning

Since LEGOLAND Florida has just opened to the public (on October 15, 2011, see our photo-gallery of the Grand Opening Ceremony HERE), it seemed more than appropriate to post pictures of the entire park, by dividing them into different categories, which correspond to the various themed areas of the park. We will not add any personal comments in these photo-galleries, as we will soon post a separate review of the park.

  1. A++++Our expectations were blown out of this world! It was top notch all the way. First and foremost, they got it right all around! For me, customer service is the most I important aspect of any experience. This park obviously has a costumer service manager who is unmatched in the entertainment business. We did not encounter one employee that did not go above and beyond. Starting from the check in to departure, our experience was positive our entire day! Every single employee we encountered had such a gracious and "genuine" and attitude, which is so rare these days. The rides were so much better than we were expecting! And a lot of them! The lines weren't too long for Orlando standards. Okay, on to hotels. We purchased a vacation package last minute through the Legoland website. We stayed at the Reunion Grand Wyndam....wow, that resort is amazing!Only suggestion I would give is to make sure you plan accordingly. We arrived around 5pm on Saturday planning on ordering pizza and hanging poolside while the kids swim. Well, the pool was closed to a private party (don't like THAT!) and even on a regular day, the pool bar closes at 5pm. A least a that section we were at..there are many condo/town home sections as well as the main hotel/resort. The swim park also was closed, hours are 10-5pm, same as Legoland...so we couldn't use it due to our short trip. I will definitely stay at this resort whenever we return to Orlando. The price was too good to be true...we originally booked a 2 bedroom w/kitchen...was under $200! Was worth it! It's about a 30 minute drive though...Driving West on I-4. It's the road you take off of I-4 that is so time consuming with tons of red lights!!! But, the the area around Legoland is pretty much "not so hot" and kind of in the boon docks....and yes, there is the Best Western near Legoland and a few others...bit I wouldn't personally stay there...but that's just me!

Oh, and also the LEGO STORE near the front of park is AMAZING and HUGE! the prices were lower then the Downtown Disney it seemed to me...and it is the LARGEST LEGO STORE I have ever been in! Truly! Although it was super, super crowded at end of day....we arrived at 415pm as I had read from reporters that attended before grand opening to go shopping in the store EARLY as everyone went last....and it wasn't too bad, but by the time we were done looking around and shopping the place was wall to wall people...the lines were long, but I have to give thumbs up, as despite the crowds and long lines, we didn't wait longer than 10 minutes in line! I would suggest to Legoland however, to please provide some shopping baskets! We bought so much stuff, had to pile it on the floor in front of us, was over 3 feet high..but that is just a suggestion...

Oh, the Legoland "Around the World" exhibits was amazing! I saw Around the World as I don't know what they call it..but it was jaw dropping! Las Vegas, NYC, Kennedy Space Center, and many, many others was incredible! And to think...all made out of Legos! Made for some pretty spectacular photos!

Oh, one more suggestion....please put up more signs for directions! It was kinda hard to navigate....with so much space and so few signs...but thanks to all the employees who always answered our "how to to we get to _____?"

Thank you for giving my children a dream day! Their sweet faces so full of joy, priceless! Legoland FLA....out of this world! A++++++++! Absolutely the "very best new theme park in many, many years!" Probably since Universal Studios! I am a Floridian...we are regulars at all the theme parks, and I really mean it! Will be purchasing annual passes to Legoland...definitely worth it!

Thank you, LEGOLAND FLA for providing the Southeasterns with such a unique, well made theme park...and of all the theme parks around, you managed to hire the kindest and most efficient employees I have ever encountered in one place!
