ADVISORY: Blizzard Beach Will Not Open Tomorrow

A very strange and unexpected advisory has been posted today by the Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will remain closed tomorrow (Friday, August 26, 2011). Read more:

We apologize for the inconvenience as Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will not be operating Friday, August 26, 2011. However, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens miniature golf courses will remain operational for Guest enjoyment, weather permitting.

This is quite unusual... The announcement was just posted a few hours ago, so it must mean that there's something very important going on inside the park (possibly a critical issue on some of the water slides). We'll let you know in case more information should emerge.

    Strong feeder bands are predicted to move through the area. Along with low attendance, there was no need to have two waterparks operating. This is not all that uncommon when storms are predicted.

    For a site that continues to take information directly from the Hub, I'm surprised you didn't see some of this information.

    Thanks for the information, Anonymous. In these past few years, I've never seen them announcing the closure of a waterpark with such a short notice...
