WDW: Important Advisories


Some important advisories today, from the Walt Disney World Resort:

Wolfgang Puck Express in the Downtown Disney Marketplace will be closed for floor repair beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, and will reopen Saturday, May 21.



Two previously announced meet and greet locations which were scheduled to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Monday, May 16, have been adjusted. 
  • Winnie the Pooh will now be arriving at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in late May. After his arrival, he will be greeting guests at The Magic of Disney Animation building to promote his new movie, “Disney’s Winnie the Pooh”, which premieres in theaters July 15.
  • Also beginning in late May, Phineas and Ferb, the stars of their self-titled show on The Disney Channel, will soon call Disney’s Hollywood Studios home. The brothers will greet guests at a new character location by Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano.

Disney-Pixar Weekend at Epcot: May 13-15

This year's Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will end in grand style with a full-immersion weekend celebrating the 25th anniversary of Pixar and the upcoming release of "Cars 2.” From the Epcot Auto Plaza all the way through to IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, guests will experience Pixar like never before:
  • Commemorative Guidemap: Available at any of the Flower & Garden guide map racks, as well as select festival locations throughout the park.
  • Pixar character meet-and-greets will take place daily, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. throughout Future World and World Showcase:
    • Mission: SPACE – Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story 3”
    • Test Track – "Cars 2" Triptych
    • The Living Seas – Coral stilt walkers and Turtle Talk with Crush from “Finding Nemo” 
    • American Adventure – Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye from “Toy Story 3” 
    • Art of Green Living Garden – Flik, Atta, Gypsy Moth, and Slim from “A Bug’s Life”
    • France – Remy and Emile from “Ratatouille” 
    • World Showplace East Hall - Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, and FroZone from “The Incredibles”; Mr. Potato Head and Lotso from “Toy Story 3”; Mike, Sulley, Boo, and friends from “Monster’s, Inc.”; Carl, Russell, and Dug from "Up"; Tow Mater from “Cars 2”

  • Race Around World Showcase: Guests receive stickers at the "Cars 2" topiary and at locations throughout World Showcase (United Kingdom, France, Japan, American Adventure and Italy). Collect all six stickers and receive a commemorative button.
  • Pixar Celebration Central at World Showplace: 
    • Entrance art display – Large format posters showcasing rare concept art, iconic Pixar characters and fun Pixar facts and quotes line the walkway to the World Showplace entrance.
    • Pixar character Meet & Greets – Inside East Hall, as mentioned above. 
    • Featured guest speakers - Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15
      • Jonas Rivera – Producer, Pixar Animation – 2 p.m.
      • Michael Giacchino – Composer – 4 p.m.
      • Jay Ward – CARS Franchise Guardian, Pixar Animation - Noon
      • The featured speakers will come together for a  final presentation at 6 p.m. This is in addition to the individual presentations listed above.
  • Merchandise – Exclusive early release of “Cars 2” merchandise available for purchase in MouseGear and at Inside Track (Test Track). 
  • IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth – After IllumiNations, Spaceship Earth will glow with the image and music from “Cars 2,” May 13-15.

To provide time for rehearsal and planned maintenance work, there will be no shows of La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil May 15-30, 2011.
