Epcot update

Good afternoon, everybody! Today we've got a new update on our all-time favorite park, EPCOT!
Let's see if there's something new:

Well, there's never more than a 5-minute queue for Spaceship Earth due to its extremely high capacity, but now, it's the busy season:

By the way, listen to the amazing old narration of spaceship Earth HERE!!
The Circle of Life:

There are new LCD screens in the pre-show area:

Living with the Land was pretty busy too:

By the way, did you know that "Living with the Land" was previously called "Listen to the Land" and had this wonderful music... that now is gone forever?? Yet another ride that lost an important piece:

Great, isn't it?
Let's see what has changed inside the Imagination pavilion:

Unfortunately, nothing new here:

BONUS #1! Another DVC booth, just for you!:

BONUS #2: Temporary bathrooms near the path through the Imagination pavilion:

Nice view... Epcot is Epcot:

Duffy's busy now, please try again later:

Where's Odessy? I thought it was Odyssey...

I always say that is better to begin visiting the park from World Showcase, because there are less people:

The Patisserie is always a busy place, so get there early!!
They have some of the best desserts of the whole resort:

Test track had an extended queue:

New TV screens over the "Segway Central" exhibit inside INNOVENTIONS WEST:

Only a few things remain to be done inside Mouse Gear:

A part of the old carpet still remains:

If you remember the conversation we had about these, then you've been reading OTPN for a long time now!!:

The Electric Umbrella was very busy, so the second floor was open too:

Cold weather can be deadly for some plants, even if it lasts only a few days here in Florida:

The work near the entrance of the park is done:

Ah, EPCOT Center lives on:

Thanks for watching.
And see you soon.

  1. Thanks for all the great updates! You should stop by a different resort every now and then and give us updates on those too!

  2. Thanks!! I know, we used to visit many more resorts before, but then, once work on the new Fantasyland began, we started to skip them.
But, don't worry, we'll get back there and post pictures soon!!

I hope that in the next epcot update, you can take some shot of the most funny show in Epcot: "A Talk with Crush".. I laughed for 2 weeks after it!!!

  4. Are you going to be visiting any of the parks on New Year's Eve? if so please take pictures. I've always been curious just how busy it can get at the parks on New Year's Eve because i've been told its the busiest day of the entire year for the Florida theme parks.

  5. Great update!(as always)

Curios looking those temporary Bathrooms, they look kind of Carnival-ish looking but with some of the Disney quality on them. You can see they tried to made them nicer looking.

I'm always amazed at the comments about the extended queues etc. I've always gone in July so for me if is later in the day the queue at Spaceship is always like that, E. Umbrella always has the 2nd floor opened, Test Track I've started outside a couple of times... It must be nice to go in the low season! But July at least the days I went are always like that...

Samuele if you do go like Anonymous suggested New Years (or close) could you look or take a pic of the parking lot. Since I go really early A.M. and stay all day until is dark, it has always amazed me and never, ever seen the parking lot full. I mean full at or near capacity.

I also have a comment about the site modifications there are not complaints is just a little review. Since I look at it from a Netbook, to start the text is pretty small, but if I make it larger what happens is that the text gets bigger but the pics get bigger too but since the right column is fixed the text stays looking good but the pics get behind the right column and I can only see half a pic. If I go smaller so the pics stay full it gets really hard to read the text... Just letting you know.

Thanks for the updates and the page as always!

  6. @Anonymous: I don't think that I will be able to go on the 31, both because I don't celebrate New Year and I don't really like to go inside EXTREMELY BUSY theme parks... But I agree with you, it would be interesting to see how the crowds are, so we decided to go on the 30 (the day before, so the crowds will be crazy too, but not as crazy)....

@Francisco: Thanks for the comment! About the site's appearance, you're right, the size of the sidebar is fixed, but I was not aware that it would give problems to anybody...
What browser do you use? And what's your screen resolution?
Thanks, and sorry for the issue!!!

  7. You're Welcome... I'm just trying to let you know cause it gets a little difficult to enjoy it your page, since I can't really see both text (big enough to read it) and pics only get to see about half if I'm reading... I just notice that I don't get the full name either I see: "ndo Theme Parks N" instead of the full name on top. I use Firefox and don't really know about the resolution but the screen I think is about 9". So you could imagine how small things look.

If you want to see what happens I enlarged the page by pressing "control (+) plus sign". You could do that until you see ndo Theme Parks N" to get an idea of what I'm saying. But again it is a comment not a complain cause I know this happens cause my computer is so small and the majority of people will not have this problems.

But thanks for listening and for the nice post and park updates!

  8. Oh, now I understand! I'm really sorry about the issue, but i didn't know that you had a smaller screen resolution... I decided to make the site look better by making the skin fluid, but I kept in mind that people now have bigger screens...
Again, sorry about that!! (P.S.- I tried to see how it look, and yes, the sidebar covers the pictures... sorry!).
I will see what I can do.

  9. I did not even need to click on your link to the song "Listen to the Land" to have it running through my head! Is it odd that even as a child I loved that attraction? Thanks for posting that link, it's fun to really hear it again - though when we visit WDW next week it will have me yearning for the way the Land used to be!!

  10. I was there the day before Thanksgiving (Wednesday, November 26th) & it was just as busy at Spaceship Earth. The BIG difference was that it was 80 degrees that day so people didn't mind waiting outside as much!
Also, thanks for "taking one for the team" Sam & going to the parks on the 30th - I don't go out on New Year's Eve either 'cause it's safer at home. Have a Happy New Year - to you, your family, & all the other readers of this board! :)
