Crush Coaster coming to DHS?

Other day, other rumors!
Recently we come to know from WDWMagic that another ride is being considered for the "HOT SET" stage in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Just to remind you, it's the stage found between the Studio Tour and Pixar Place.

In that building, the Imagineers are thinking about putting one of the following:

1) MONSTER INC. COASTER (and this isn't a news)

2)CRUSH'S COASTER (from Walt Disney Studios park in Paris).

Here's a video of the ride before we continue (if you don't want to see it, skip it because much of the ride takes place in the dark, so you don't see a lot)

So, this ride is a spinning (please no!!!) coaster, with very few dark ride parts.
As you mat know, my previous home park was Disneyland Paris (it was the nearest, 8 hours of car!!), so I got to see the ride a lot since it opened, and it is... lame!

Here's the layout of the coaster (VERY similar to the layout of Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom):

I mean, there are serious capacity issues that forced the management of the park to take away the Fast pass, and even without it, the line can be up to 4 hours!! For a ride like that? Please!!!
Then, we already have a good (even though short) dark ride, that in 70 seconds shows more things that Crush's Coaster does in 2 minutes or so....

Why do we need to copy AGAIN?? I really hope they will choose Monster Inc. coaster. It sounds sooo much better, and it would be original and exclusive (until Disneyland California doesn't copy it...)

What do YOU think?

  2. Well, I have to say that I agree with you, since all the other rides are even worse there...
    But I like more CineMagique!

  3. No, i don't like cinemagique, because i've seen philarmagic in Orlando, that is a great show.

  4. How anyone compares cinemagique to philharmagic is a mystery to me, the only thing those two have in common is that it's movie based, but the concept and story, medium usage and story is as different as can be appart from one of the two being a 3D experience, wich cinemagique is not.. Both are great attractions in their own way I think..

As far as Crush's coaster is concerned, I did like it a lot, the theming is great and the coaster is a lot of fun en hooks nicely into the storyline they came up with (riding the eastern current) ... But the capacity is a huge huge problem.. for such a short ride I would not get in line again unless as a first thing in the morning.. too bad.. but still a great little coaster

  5. What? There's nothing announced. This is a Rumor with a capital "R," and it's been going around for a few years. And as much as Disney likes Nemo and Pixar, I don't see them building a THIRD attraction based on the little guy... Monsters Inc at least has a sequel in the works.

Besides, the layout you're showing isn't including the lift and outdoor section that's in front of the ride at WDS. Please get your facts straight before getting everyone worked up.

  6. Yeah, I think they'll go with the Monsters, Inc. roller coaster since that will now be a franchise. Think about it - they're making a whole Cars land somewhere because of Cars 2, and a Toy Story land somewhere because of the three movies. Personally, I'd like to see a Disney Pixar coaster that doesn't have a ride yet, like The Incredibles or Wall-E.

  7. I didn't even know this ride existed 'til today. Interesting.

It's a cool concept, no doubt, but I think they'll probably make this into the Monsters Inc. coaster. Personally, I don't care for either of them, but hey, new rides are always nice.

I never said that this is going to happen! I wrote "other day, other RUMOR"!
And about the layout, it is the same of the coaster, the only thing is that the outside part in the WDS ride has curves, while in the drawing it's straight. The lift hill is clearly visible too.

Please, before attacking somebody, read carefully...

Thanks everybody for posting comments!!! I love comments (even though they may be negative too :-) )

  9. I have been many times in Walt Disney Studios (Paris), and Crush Coaster is a total chaos because of it's low capacity. It's not unusual to have the people making the queue even outside the queue area, arrivin' until the Studio 1.

In operational terms, is an absolute failure, a huge mistake. Lots of people often have to let the ride apart because it's always filled. But let's be realistic; it's a small tiny park with less than 10 rides. It's a shame for the Disney name.

  10. I absolutely agree with you, Juan!
I have been to WDS a lot too, and it's the smallest and most insignificant Disney Park at this time... If they don't hurry to put Soarin' and Ratatouille, it will go to ruin.

And Crush's Coaster... yes, it has one of the worst capacity issue ever.

  11. It's a kids ride in a kids theme park, if your looking for big thrills go somewhere else! Personally I love crushes coaster and your all complaining about the que, which keeps moving the whole time, yes it's long but so what? the parachute drop que is almost the same length when I go. Ratatouille will be disappointing I bet.. probably like peter pan or pirates.
