Guests and Cast Members Can Leave Their (Virtual) Mark on Cinderella Castle on New "Mural of Memories”
Yesterday morning, the Walt Disney World Resort announced that Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom Park can now add their favorite image captured by a Disney PhotoPass photographer to a specially dedicated spot in “Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories” — a new, virtual way for guests to become part of our story using the My Disney Experience app.
This virtual "Mural of Memories" at Cinderella Castle is brought to life by some really cool AR technology. For $9.99, guests can place their own favorite image captured by Disney PhotoPass photographers on a special spot saved just for them.
Once they’ve added their memory, Guests will be able to come back again and again to see it over the next three years. They will also receive a digital download of their chosen photo and a special animated video of it coming to life within the “Mural of Memories.” Whether near or far, these downloads can be shared with friends and family, allowing them to look back on the memories they made for years to come.
Disney Cast Members will be able to participate, too! As Cast Members are the heart of the 50th Anniversary celebration, each of them will receive a complimentary entitlement for this offering when they visit the Magic Kingdom Park throughout the 50th Anniversary celebration and beyond.
To experience this new offering, open the My Disney Experience app and search for "Mural of Memories." Once you get started, the experience will prompt you to select a portrait-oriented Disney PhotoPass photo from your photo gallery within the app. Then, follow the steps on the screen to complete your photo selection, and watch it come to life in the "Mural of Memories" before your eyes!
