On May 10, 2006, the stage production, Disney Presents: Tarzan, opened in the Richard Rodgers Theater on Broadway. The beloved musical followed the plot of the Walt Disney Animation Studios 1999 film Tarzan, where Tarzan is raised by gorillas, meets Jane, a young English naturalist, and falls in love. Jane’s entourage plans to kill the gorillas, and Tarzan’s loyalties are tested.

1973 – Lillian Disney Truyens helps dedicate “The Walt Disney Story” at Magic Kingdom Park
1990 – The Muppets at Walt Disney World television show airs
1988 – Norway opens as the 11th World Showcase pavilion at Epcot
1991 – The Walt Disney Company becomes part of the Dow Jones Industrial Average

2011 – Disneyland Park hosts the world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
2011 – The final Walt Disney World Grad Nite event is held in Magic Kingdom Park
