PHOTOS: New Overpass Taking Shape Near Hollywood Studios

As part of the massive expansion of Disney's Hollywood Studios, the park will receive a completely new entrance for its parking lot (which is also in the process of being expanded) that aims to reduce the backup to access and leave the area. While the project is expected to be completed by the opening of the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land in late 2019, a section of the new ramp that will be part of a massive, new overpass for Osceola Parkway is already taking shape. Let's take a look:

The ramp seen below will allow Guests coming from Eastbound and Westbound Osceola Parkway to access the parking lot:

Plenty of work is still taking place in this area:

Let's get closer to the new ramp:

Lane closures will continue to take place along Victory Way (and Osceola Parkway) as part of this project:

Additional work is being done nearby as crews continue working on the new gondola system:

When the project is completed, the traffic light at the intersection of Osceola Parkway and Victory Way will be removed as the overpass will allow vehicles driving on Osceola Parkway to go over the current intersection with Victory Way. In addition to that, multiple new ramps will connect Osceola Parkway and Victory Way to the new entrance to the parking lot of Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Comments

  1. Hopefully, this new entrance will mean the secondary entrance onto E Buena Vista Drive will be restricted to buses. (For those unfamiliar, that's the intersection where you enter the Boardwalk area.) When the park closes, getting out on a Disney bus can take forever because of all the cars.
