Animal Kingdom Lodge Revamps its Popular Night Safari

For years, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has offered the popular Night Safari, an experience where Guests have the opportunity to board a safari vehicle at night and trek across the resort’s savanna to see how the animals behave after the sun goes down. The use of night-vision goggles allows for unique views of the animals as well as the resort. Beginning Tuesday, March 1, the aptly-named Night Safari will be officially renamed Starlight Safari.

With all the exciting enhancements taking place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney was concerned that Guests would confuse the Night Safari experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge with the newly expanded night hours of the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction at the nearby park.

Although the content of the experience will not change, the Starlight Safari will transition from a program open exclusively to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Guests to one that any Walt Disney World Guest can book through the Disney Reservation Center.

Starlight Safari is one of three experiences offered at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Wanyama Safari includes a more in-depth safari in the late afternoon followed by dinner at Jiko—The Cooking Place. The themed resort also offers the opportunity to “Dine with an Animal Specialist” at Sanaa for a conversational lunch with members of the Animal Care team.

Guests can book these experiences (including the dining opportunity) by calling 407-WDW-TOUR.
