Pizza Planet Closing for Long Rehab at Hollywood Studios

The Pizza Planet dining location (found next to Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) will be expanded and refurbished in the coming months. As a result, the quick service restaurant will temporarily close on January 19.
When it reopens in late 2016, the restaurant, still serving the popular pizza and salads, will have additional seating and registers. By doing this, the location will be able to accommodate even more Guests and operate more efficiently.

  1. Why is Pizza Planet located next to Muppets 3D and is nowhere even close to Pixar Place? Did Disney just give up on park planning at this point? If it fits stick it there mentality?

  2. Cause Pizza Planet was build before they even thought off building Pixar place. As for the refurb I'm glad it's closed during my trip in Sept. I don't like pizza and the salad is the worst I had anywhere. Was hoping that it was gonna be turned into a Muppets test lab restaurant.

  4. there's rumors it'll be re-themed to Muppets, which explains the lengthy down time

  6. I think it is VERY obvious that it will not be returning with the same name or theme. With Toy Story Land coming in a couple more years, they need to remove Pizza Planet and rebuild it bigger and better inside Toy Story Land.

Also, isn't the main reason all the meet and greets near Muppets and the Osborn lights going away forever because that whole back section of the park is going away for Star Wars? Kinda strange to remove everything from both sides of Muppets and just leave it standing. I have a strong feeling Muppets is going to be on the chopping block next. My guess is that the current Pizza Planet will be rethemed to something Star Wars related to fit in with the new land.
