The Walt Disney World Resort announced earlier today the official opening date for the new Trattoria al Forno restaurant (which is replacing the former Kouzzina by Cat Cora at Disney's BoardWalk Resort), as well as additional details about the menu and some of the specialties that will be included. From the new information released, it seems like the Walt Disney World Resort will finally add an Italian restaurant outside its parks that will be actually authentic.

The restaurant's opening day is set for December 18, 2014, but reservations can be made starting October 21, 2014. The Trattoria al Forno is expected to showcase classic Italian cuisine including handcrafted mozzarella made daily, fresh cavatelli pasta and pizzas baked in wood-burning ovens.

Uncle Pats Pickled Peppers (Affettati)

Meatball Cannelloni Basil (Cannelloni e Polpetta)

Lasagna alla Bolognese

Chicken Parmiggiana (Cotoletta di Pollo)

Here is the complete menu, which also includes some of the wines that will be available for purchase:

The restaurant will be open daily for breakfast (7:30-11 a.m.) and dinner (5-10 p.m.), with Chef Dee Foundoukis and her team creating a true taste of all of Italy’s diverse regions. Just like its predecessor, the restaurant will accept the Disney Dining Plan. For reservations (starting from October 21, 2014), call 407-WDW-DINE or visit
