Power Outage at Universal Studios Florida (PART 4)

Welcome to PART 4 of this Universal Studios Florida photo-report (PART 3 can be found HERE).

Our virtual tour of Springfield continues as we check out the Duff Gardens:

Here you are a short video showing a small section of Woody Woodpecker's KidZone during the outage:

Hollywood:

The parade was cancelled that day, but characters still came out to take photos with Guests:

Terminator 2: 3D was also down due to the power outage:

A few

Just before leaving the park, we noticed that the line to Guest Services had gotten long:

Really...

...long!:

A panoramic photo showing how long the line was (FULL-SIZE):

We even have a video of this line! How cool is that? :-)

There was a line even at the outside Guest Services location:

Finally, it looks like the power outage also affected one (or more) of the speakers located in the entrance area (we are not sure if this is actually related to the power outage or not, though):

In conclusion, it was a messy day for Universal Orlando. We really hope something like this will not happen again, especially during the busy summer months (even though the high season is slowly coming to an end). Now it is your turn to share your comments and opinions with us! We'd love to hear what you have to say.

  1. Judging from the size of that line, I guess people were...universally upset.
All jokes aside, was Islands of Adventure also affected by the power outage?

  2. I really have to think that once "London" is done, Fear Factor will go. It's right next to it, and I could see them tearing it down for an eventual expansion to the "London" area given the popularity of Harr...uh...The Beatles?
I mean Comcast just said they were about to expand even more, and I'd be shocked if Fear Factor stayed.

  4. I would love to see an evening video of the new whirl and hurl ride. It looks amazing and I'm wondering what it looks like at night.
Also great to see they are still adding to Springfield. I hope the top of the donut building gets something because it doesn't look nice with the big metal thing on top of it.
Also am wondering what they will do to the side of the London attraction building.
Lets hope this is the start of Fear Factor never opening again. I loved the former wild west stunt show but the FF show is awful.
Still not know what is written on the sides of the ufo's...

  5. Looks like everything that was effected was on the original power grid for the park? I'm not sure but it seems like all the original builds may share the same lines which caused them to go down.

It's always creepy when this happens, nice that you caught it! Hopefully things are sorted out today!

  6. I was there with 10 friends and was a massive shame as we only had a few things left to do (like terminator) plus walking over to the other side of the park for a drink was a pain. We sat down for the parade but it was about 30 mins after show time that the staff informed us it was not on (even thought we had been told by 3 that it was on)
Hats off to Doc Brown who was hilarious about the whole thing. We're lucky this happened at the beginning of our vacation and that we can go back

Doc Brown's reaction would have been worth the price of admission alone! :D
