Universal Studios: Transformers Now Open (PART 5)

Welcome to PART 5 of this Universal Studios Florida photo-report (PART 4 can be found here).

We have a few more photos of the work being done in the Simpsons themed area to share with you:

This waterfront area will be used as the extended queue for the new Kang and Kodos Twirl 'n' Hurl ride:

By the way, the Kang and Kodos Twirl 'n' Hurl is looking... scary:

This photo-spot was recently completely refurbished:

New (themed) directional signs have been installed near the Kwik-E-Mart:

The Duff Gardens area is looking really great!:

More photos of the whole area:

New theming elements were added in the window of "The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop" facade:

New palm trees were recently planted near the refurbished Simpsons' restrooms:

Behind the walls:

One last photo of the London waterfront:

New Transformers xups are now being sold at select carts and stores around the park:

And that is all.

This concludes our latest Universal Studios Florida photo-report. As always, we would love to hear your opinions regarding all the great projects taking shape inside the park. Do you think that work is proceeding at a fast pace, or do you think that Universal slowed down a little in the past few weeks? Also, what future projects do you think Universal will officially announce in the next few years? If you have a personal opinion on this or other related subjects, feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of this post! See you soon.

  2. Awesome update as always. I really hope they give the Kidzone a face lift and possibly re theme it to Spongebob? Woody Woodpecker is outdated.

  4. I heard that the Kidzone was on the list to get redone but i'm now hearing they axed that idea. That Idea was suppose to take out E.T. and replace it with a new dark ride. For now everything in Kidzone is staying.
As for Islands of Adventure, there are big rumors that they will get a complete revamp on one of their lands. Many people are saying its the toon lagoon area. I don't know we'll have to keep our ears open. Although in the near future i heard something will be going near Jurassic Park.
    Great Job As Always OTPN

  5. Jurassic Park area needs an overhaul, the movie is dated now and as of the attractions, only the river adventure is a top ride. The Pteranodon Flyers have a desperately slow moving queue (and its child based height restrictions limit its appeal) and the Triceratops encounter is NEVER open! The playground could easily be rethemed while the removal of other attractions could create space for a couple of headline new rides.

On a less positive side though, it could potentially be swallowed up with yet another Harry Potter extension...

  10. With a 4th JP movie being penned down it would be cool to see something new in there. The movie would have some Sea World like environments that could translate very nice to a great attraction.
@fatdonut Farewell, because Islands will get some more Potter in the future. Go visit one of the other nice (but not awesome) parks in Orlando.

  11. If JP4 really is seaworld kinda themed, perhaps a new JP ride will be a show, Waterworld esq outdoor theatre with stunts and a very big dinosaur in the water. Not really what id want, but can see it happening if water is the big theme. Personally I think JP would lend itself great to something 3D...imagine Amazing Spiderman but JP! the car moving as a Trex chases you etc and velociraptors jump out....I want THAT ride!
