Many rumors indicate that the entire queue of the rid will be completely re-themed (and enclosed), to look like guests are already inside a mine. We can't wait to see it!:
A closer look:
That's some serious work!:
Are they ever gone na be done with Pecos Bills. How long does it take. What a joke.
The "Homemade Coaster Car" on Big Thunder is for testing clearances.
You make a cut out that represents the extended arm length of the 95th percentile male.
Send it around the track to make sure show elements won't interferer with the people.
Quality work takes time. I'm glad they're taking the time to keep things in good shape. Isn't Pecos Bill's still open while the work is going on?
I kind of agree with the first anonymous; Pecos Bill's has seen a parade of seemingly never-ending exterior renovations since it reopened after it's big upgrade in 1998.
A couple of comments...
1) I hope I'm not in the top 5th percentile on Thunder Mountain! I guess I need to keep my arms in!.
2) Pecos Bills has not seen constant renovations since 1998. It has been every couple of years, but only for a short time each time. Let's hope that this major renovation will be the last one for a while. Remember, all this work is to have Magic Kindgom be completely open with no renovations once the Fantasyland Expansion is complete.
3) I don't think they can make Thunder Mountain taller because it would be visible from Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, which would ruin the theming.
" rumors indicate that the entire queue of the rid will be completely re-themed (and enclosed), to look like guests are already inside a mine".
I certainly hope this is not true. The queue is already too hot and crowded as it is. If it was enclosed completely, it would be very claustrophobic. Great ride, horrible queue.
"The queue is already too hot and crowded as it is."
Well, if they decide to enclose it, it will probbaly have air conditioning
I hope the day comes in the near future where 99% of MK is tarp free again. I remember the good old days when there were no tarps - they did a lot of their re-habbing at night. This tarp business seems to be a recurring theme in the last 2-3 years...
Thanks for shaing these amazing updaes with us.
I cannot see most of these photos as they say: This image exceeds bandwidth with too many views.
I cannot see most of these photos either: This image exceeds bandwidth with too many views. BTW I love your blog and check it every day at lunch to take a mental break from work.
