Animal Kingdom Update: Rivers of Light & More (PART 1)

This year will undoubtedly be one of the most important and meaningful ones for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. While the new Pandora land is still more than a year away from opening and no other new ride is scheduled to open in 2016, the brand-new Rivers of Light nighttime show will debut in the Discovery River, causing an extension of the park's operating hours. Additionally, some areas of the park are being enhanced for the enjoyment of Guests. Take a look:

Welcome to Animal Kingdom:

Pandora continues to take shape in the south-west section of the park:

The Oasis:

This view is always breathtaking:

The Riverside Depot shop is still open while the nearby Disney Outfitters is closed for refurbishment:

Only one single room of Disney Outfitters is still open to Guests:

New stage lights have been installed near the back of the shop:

Work will soon start again around the dining area of the Flame Tree Barbecue restaurant:

It looks like the color of the chairs and tables may be changing soon, going from blue to brown:

It's now time to check out the progress that has been done in the Rivers of Light area:

The green poles installed on the right side of the amphitheater look a bit out of place:

The right side of the amphitheater:

A look at the area from the other side of the lagoon:

Some holes have been cut in the wall to allow Guests to see the lagoon:

The new Tiffins restaurant continues to take shape on the opposite side of the island:

The future entrance to Pandora - The World of AVATAR:

Pizzafari:

We are not entirely sure about this, but it looks like a new fence has been installed behind the sign located at the entrance of the Tree of Life Garden. We never noticed it before:

By the way, the Tree of Life Garden is still closed for enhancements:
